ACORN Suspends new intakes! ACORN, calling the actions of some of its employees “indefensible,” has suspended advising new clients as part of its service programs and is setting up an independent review to see what happened. ACORN chief executive Bertha Lewis said in a written statement that she was “ordering a halt to any new intakes into ACORN’s service programs until completion of an independent review.”
White House comments on scandal – From: Politico
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs alluded to video, taken by the conservative site BigGovernment.com, showing ACORN employees giving advice to individuals posing as sex traffickers.
“Obviously, the conduct that you see on those tapes is completely unacceptable. I think everyone would agree to that,” Gibbs said. “The administration takes accountability extremely seriously.”
