Gimme Back My Bullets

Working through the backdoor, radical leftist groups, the administration, the EPA and Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein are carefully designing regulations to control the use of lead in products. While we all recognize the dangers associated with the use of lead in some products there is a hidden agenda in this effort.

The real target in this effort maybe unlegislated gun control. Using environmental concerns as their launching pad several environmental groups are asking the EPA to ban bullets, lead shot and even fishing sinkers claiming they contaminate the environment. The proposal relies on support from studies which claim that lead shot, ammo, sinkers, etc are killing animals that eat the lead fragments or other animals that were shot and contaminated by the ammo that killed them. These groups are citing the Toxic Substances Control Act as the vehicle to create these regulations. 

The proposed regulations are a stretch and conflict with existing language within the act. There also is no precedent for the EPA to involve itself in regulations that interfere with second amendment gun rights. The NRA has already weighed in on this sending the EPA a letter pointing out that they are overstepping their authority. 

You have to give these guys credit for creativity. If you can’t implement gun control legislation due to a lack of support then go after the ammunition on the basis of lead and render the guns useless. While there maybe alternatives to lead most would fall into the category of military grade ammunition such as the armor piercing variety which would create safety issues for law enforcement so that would also be shot down (no pun intended). 

Fundamental transformation is underway! It is time to stop it in its tracks!

The Gulf Oil Spill – Too many coincidences…

April 20: Deepwater Horizon explodes. 

84 days later, the leak continues spewing a much debated number of gallons per day into the Gulf of Mexico (estimates range from 800,000 to 3 million gallons/day). 

Speculation on the how’s, the who’s and the why’s behind this “accident” is running rampant in the media and on the internet. Yet for all the media coverage available – getting the facts on Tiger Woods’ extramarital activities or whether or not, Brittney Spears is wearing panties seems easier and the evidence is usually more conclusive. Maybe we need TMZ to cover this story instead of the mainstream media. 

The official story is riddled with inconsistencies and missing details, but what is clear is that there are too many unexplained coincidences. These inconsistencies easily lend themselves to conspiracy theories that become difficult to simply dismiss. 

Leading up to the accident is a list of strange events and coincidences…   

Since the Obama administration took over in Jan. 2009, the Center for American Progress, led by former Clinton Chief of Staff, John Podesta, has played a major role in forming the administration’s energy policies. CAP , of course is the George Soros sponsored “progressive” think tank. In April 2009, a CAP report stated that the America has a moral obligation to spend whatever is necessary to help poorer nations deal with the effects of the “global warming” caused by industrialized nations like the U.S.  They already used the EPA to declare that emissions of six key greenhouse gases – carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons and sulfur hexafluoride “threaten the public health and welfare of the American people”. Since the inauguration the administration has been pursuing Cap & Trade, the Copenhagen Treaty and the rest of the “green agenda” with a passion. At one point the White House even appointed a known progressive revolutionary, Van Jones as their “Green Jobs Czar”. He has since stepped down and returned to a role at CAP.

In Feb. 2009, George Soros invested $900 million in Petrobras, the state controlled oil company of Brazil. Then, as “luck” would have it (for Soros), the Obama administration decided in Aug. 2009 to loan Petrobras $2 billion for a deep water off shore drilling project off the coast of Brazil. The proposed project is in water up to 4 times deeper than the Deepwater Horizon well that exploded in the Gulf. After the well explosion, the administration immediately suspended all new drilling operations and shut down 33 other wells in the Gulf due to safety concerns with deep water drilling. I wonder if Petrobras would benefit from such a decision? 

According to reports and confidential BP internal documents, the well had a variety of problems including bad wiring, a leak in the “blowout preventer” and sealing problems that may have led to the methane eruption. Some of these problems appear to have been known as early as February, two months before the accident. Additionally there were procedural and safety problems with the oil rig that may have also contributed to the explosion. BP is now also reporting undocumented tampering with well sealing equipment. 

In another interesting twist, just one week before the explosion, Halliburton a major player in this saga, acquired Boots & Coots, a small but extremely experienced oil well control company. Their claim to fame was the work they did in Kuwait extinguishing and cleaning up the well fires set by retreating Iraqi troops during the first Gulf War. Was Haliburton worried about problems with the well? 

As for Haliburton themselves, they admitted during the recent Congressional hearings that they had   carried out a cementing operation on the Deepwater Horizon only 20 hours before the rig exploded.

Both workers and BP officials now say gases were leaking through the new cement, prior to the blast. Investigators say the leaks are probably the cause of the accident.  

Coincidentally (considering all the well problems since Feb.), Goldman Sachs decided to sell 44% of its’ BP stock holdings (4,680,822 shares) during the same timeframe. The transaction was worth $266 million and helped them avoid a $96 million loss in the weeks after the explosion. 

Also according to the U.K. Telegraph, BP CEO Tony Hayward sold about 33% of his BP stock in the 30 days prior to the spill. The transaction involved 223,288 shares which sold for $2.066 million. This sale helped Hayward avoid a loss of approximately $625,000. Hayward quickly used his profits to pay off his mansion in Kent. Did Goldman Sachs and Hayward know something about the troubles before the well blew up? 

Then, there is the suspicious behavior of our government. To start with there was the refusal to waive the Jones Act to allow foreign ships to help with the relief efforts. There were also offers from several countries such as the Netherlands, Romania, Norway, Spain, Mexico, Canada, Sweden and Britain made a variety of offers of aid, from skimmer ships to technology. Only Canada, Mexico and Norway’s offers were accepted, the rest were either turned away or remain “under consideration”. 

Additionally, the federal government has blocked and hindered the efforts of Louisiana, and the other Gulf states in taking action to protect their own coastlines. Efforts by Gov. Bobby Jindal to build sand berms to help keep the oil from washing ashore were blocked by the federal government. The Coast Guard also broke up a flotilla of barges set up to create an oil barrier. 

There were also those bizarre Congressional hearings with BP and the bulk $20 billion prepayment for spill damage claims. The money was given to the federal government to administer. Who hands over that much money when they claim they haven’t completed their own internal investigation of the cause? It is worth pointing out that they (BP) like to say that BP stands for Beyond Petroleum and that they are heavily invested in many forms of alternative energy as well as a proponent of carbon credits and trading. They also were a huge contributor to Obama’s presidential campaign. Even after all the bad press and the $20 billion payout is there enough upside in Cap & Trade to make it worth staying in the President’s good graces? Remember carbon trading is an estimated $10 trillion annual business if Cap & Trade passes. 

There are also other controversies such as the oil dispersants being used. The criticisms run from the EPA’s claim that they are too toxic to the fact that the ones being used are new and untested. Kevin Costner claims to have an oil/water separator system that could capture oil from the surface and return clean water to the Gulf. Since the system is untested, the EPA is concerned over environmental impact so they are moving slowly with putting the system into service. Could the environmental impact of removing the oil from the water without chemicals really be worse than doing nothing or using the questionable dispersants?   

Another significant piece to this story is that most deep water wells have redundant (2) “blow out preventers” yet for some reason BP was a given a waiver to operate with only one on the Deepwater Horizon well, even though it is a very deep well. The waiver was granted last year by the U.S. Minerals Management Service. Why? Do campaign contributions buy waivers? Just asking. 

Need more? The FAA declares area over the spill a no-fly zone. Obviously they want to keep unnecessary aircraft out of the area (media helicopters, for sure) but are they hiding something else? There is speculation in the oil and gas industry trade publications that this disaster is far from over and things have the potential to get a lot worse. Some experts believe that BP has tapped into a massive oil field that is covered by a large methane gas bubble capable of creating pressure at the well head of 100,000 psi which is 100 times what the equipment is designed to deal with. This has the potential to create an underwater oil volcano which could wreak havoc on the surrounding area by generating tidal waves and clouds of toxic gas. Is there imminent danger that the government is not telling us about? A cover up?

Over the past several years we have seen the formation of the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), which is funded by a variety of organizations, many of which have ties to the administration, pushing the “green agenda” of Cap & Trade. We have watched Al Gore (by the way a major investor in CCX) turn climate change into a full fledged industry. We have watched the U.N., the world’s elite and environmental extremists turn “climate change” into a radical movement bent on reshaping the global energy structure and redistribution of wealth. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that as a carbon credits trading operation, CCX will have the potential to make its’ investors very rich (some estimate $10 trillion annually) if Cap & Trade passes. So the question is -Is this about saving the planet or greed? Is the real green agenda more cash for the elite?

Will there soon be a cry from the Progressive Congressional Caucus calling for the nationalization of the oil industry?  In the past, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D) CA., a socialist moonbat, has called for nationalizing the oil companies, as have left leaning commentators such as MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. What’s even worse is that many Democrat voters actually believe this might be a good idea. Surely the answer to our problems is the government not greedy businesses like BP, right? Funny though how political donations from the evil corporations are still accepted by our saviors! I guess when you are saving the world no money is too dirty.

So ask yourself – what’s really going on here? Is the accident in the Gulf a “crisis” of opportunity for the administration to push through Cap & Trade? Is there a dragging of feet to get this thing capped to make the point that fossil fuels are unsafe? Remember according to Carol Browner the administration is in charge and calling all the shots in the Gulf, so no excuses right? It can’t be lost on most rational people that there are many glaring inconsistencies in this story and its’ relevant subplots. What is the real root cause; greed, incompetence, coincidences or conspiracy? My hunch is some of each but regardless this feels like another crossroads. Will this “accident” fuel more fundamental transformation of our country and our way of life? Will it be an excuse to further destroy our economy by becoming the catalyst for Cap & Trade? 

Wake up, America! Ask questions and demand answers! Time is running out…

The Tipping Point

The passage of the Healthcare Reform bill has accelerated the country down the road to financial disaster. By 2018 (if we don’t get there sooner) we will arrive at the tipping point. Here are the facts:

  • The President’s 2011 budget will generate nearly $10 trillion in cumulative budget deficits over the next 10 years
  • This is $1.2 trillion more than the administration projected. The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) originally projected a 10-year deficit total of $8.53 trillion.
  • The federal public debt was $6.3 trillion ($56,000 per household) when Obama took office. Today it stands at $8.2 trillion ($72,000 per household). Based on the new projections it will reach $20.3 trillion (more than $170,000 per household) by 2020, according to the CBO.
  • This will raise the federal debt to 90 percent of the nation’s economic output by 2020 according to the Congressional Budget Office. This is up from 40 percent at the end of fiscal 2008.
  • This means we are following in the foot prints of Greece. Their socialist and labor dominated government is on the verge of economic collapse with a debt to GDP ratio of 115%.
  • Typically in countries with debt-to-GDP ratios “above 90 percent, median growth rates fall by 1% and average growth falls considerably more,” according economists Kenneth S. Rogoff of Harvard and Carmen M. Reinhart of the University of Maryland.
  • The slower the job growth, the more the administration wants to spend “to stimulate the economy”. Yet spending is exactly what we must avoid according to Moody’s who says continued government spending could cause the U.S. to lose our AAA credit rating.
  • The loss of our AAA credit rating would result in higher interest rates on government borrowing that funds our spending deficits. This of course increases the deficit, creating the proverbial ‘vicious circle”.

 So what is the “tipping point” that could happen in 2018? The term “tipping point” can be applied to any process in which, beyond a certain point, the rate at which the process evolves (for better or worse) increases dramatically. United States is on the verge of reaching its’ tipping point (and not for the better) as it applies to the federal budget.

The event that may have marked the approaching tipping point may have recently occurred. The first Baby Boomer—born January 1, 1946—has applied for early retirement at age 62 and received her first Social Security check. An upturn in the Medicare growth rate is expected to begin in 2011 when the first Baby Boomers begin turning 65. From that point on, the number of retirees will continue to increase while at the same time, the number of workers per retiree will more rapidly start to decrease. This will result in the inevitable collapse of the Medicare & Social Security pyramid scheme.

Look at the chart below which shows the current distribution of funds taken in by the government.

Note: The percentage of the budget devoted to interest on the national debt was abnormally high in 1985 (14%) due to higher interest rates that were prevalent during the 1980s. Also in 2008, the  ratio of workers to retirees declined to 3.3 to 1. In 1945 it was 41.9 to 1. Simply put we have been burning up the reserves for years and judgment day is coming.

The other big factor affecting the federal budget is tax revenues which decline in a down economy. We have lost millions of jobs which will come back very slowly, if at all. So far this has been a jobless recovery. Yet the government must find ways to generate revenue to keep up with its’ obligations – not the least of which is all the entitlements owed to citizens who were forced to fund Social Security and Medicare throughout their work lives. Couple this with interest on the debt, the new healthcare reform and the results will be disastrous.

Indicative of the economy’s ongoing labor problems, is the fact that first-time claims for unemployment benefits remain relatively high at 442,000 last week. The number was a decline of only 14,000 over the previous week’s seasonally adjusted number.

“That level of debt (the deficit in the 2011 federal budget) is extremely problematic, particularly given the upward debt path beyond the 10-year budget window,” said Maya MacGuineas, president of the bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

According to James R. Horney, a federal-budget analyst at the liberal Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, “The biggest part of the deficit difference (between the CBO and the OMB projections) is lower tax revenue due to the different economic assumptions. The administration assumes GDP and incomes will be higher, and that translates into higher revenues than CBO expects. Relatively small differences in economic assumptions can add up to big differences over 10 years.”

Ms. MacGuineas also added, “The proposed budget is woefully insufficient to achieve the president’s goal or the important fiscal goal of stabilizing the debt at a reasonable level in the medium and long term.” 

So here is the problem in a nutshell; many economists agree that the economy might get a short term bounce from all the corrective actions/interventions that the government has enacted. They project that it should result in a short downturn in the acceleration of the budget deficit but… they continue to fear the prospect of rising deficits later this decade, even after steady economic growth has returned and unemployment has declined. The CBO estimates that deficits will average more than 5% of GDP between 2016 -2020, even though they also project that the economy will be return to an average jobless rate of 5% during the same period.

Even Obama’s Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Peter Orszag, told reporters in March 2009, “Deficits in the, let’s say, 5 percent of GDP range would lead to rising debt-to-GDP ratios in a manner that would ultimately not be sustainable.”

The Spending Trend is not Sustainable

So who is going to pay for all this spending… if the administration has its’ way the “wealthy” and corporations are going to foot the bill. The question is how much more of the load can this group carry? Below is a table showing the current distribution of taxpayer burden. As you can see it is already disproportionate.

As this table clearly shows the top 10% of wage earners are now shouldering 61% of the total income tax load. Under a variety of ideas being discussed by the administration this imbalance will only get worse. To crack the top 10% you must have taxable income of just over $100K per year.

Wake up America! Many economists now say that the tipping point is in sight, with some saying that it could be as early as 2018. This means that there is still a small chance we can avert disaster… but time is running out. We must stop the spending and reduce taxes to stimulate the economy. A stimulated economy will result in government income growth but that alone will not fix the problem. Government can not be the sole guardian of the public. We must return to the model of government established by our founders. The federal government must let states and individuals become responsible for themselves. The federal government must focus on its’ enumerated constitutional powers. The states and local communities must take responsibility for everything else.

Healthcare Reform, rescue bills and all the entitlements are the straws that will break the camel’s back! The only way out of the mess we are in is to cut – spending and taxes – a lot! We have built a model that is unsustainable. We have to come to grips with the idea that big government is not the answer – it is the problem. The federal government must reduce its’ services to only those which are essential – national defense, infra structure and basic services. Social programs and luxury pork barrel spending must be eliminated. We ALL must sacrifice to fix this problem. Each citizen must be allowed to keep as much as possible so they can reinvest in their savings, in their communities or build businesses that will jump start the economy. If we don’t stop the wasteful spending now, we are headed for some form of socialistic government where we can all live together as peasants. 

Restore the Republic, Reject the Agenda of the Progressive Left, Stop Federal Spending! There is no other answer – Keynesian Economics do not work! We can not SPEND our way to prosperity!

Climate Change Unravels But Refuses to Die!

What in the world is happening? Could it be? Climate change is a scam?

So you are probably thinking… Climate Change, Cap & Trade and the like are dead… Why is he still writing about this? Wake up, people this is the administration that refuses to give up on healthcare reform and trying KSM in NYC!

News Flashes from the real world!

  • For the first time in 14 years, Lake Erie is frozen. That’s right, the entire surface of the 241-mile-long lake is frozen over end to end. 
  • Last week, the east coast was battered by record snowfalls with some areas receiving three feet of snow. This is not a singular event though.  So far this year, Baltimore (72.3 inches), Washington D.C. (54.9 inches) and Philadelphia (70.3 inches) have all beaten their previous records for snowiest winters.
  • From The Register, a U.K. newspaper: “More trouble looms for the IPCC. The body may need to revise statements made in its Fourth Assessment Report on hurricanes and global warming. A statistical analysis of the raw data shows that the claims that global hurricane activity has increased cannot be supported.”  
  • From Les Hatton, PhD Meteorologist and fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society: Analyzed hurricane activity from 1946 to 2009. He studied the number of storms and their strengths. He concluded the pattern averaged out. He went on to say that Al Gore made misleading statements in his prediction (more intense hurricanes) for the next 100 year pattern by choosing to use the 2005 (Katrina) data in a vacuum to support his assertion. Within the data set 2005 stands out as a complete anomaly.
  • A growing number of “climate change” researchers are focused on the accuracy of thousands of weather stations around the world, which have been used to collect temperature data over the past 100 years. “The temperature records cannot be relied on as indicators of global change,” said John Christy, professor of atmospheric science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a former lead author on the IPCC. Many of these gathering stations have been compromised by everything from urbanization to relocation. There are well documented examples of weather stations in places such as: next to heat generating equipment, at the Rome airport near an area where jets are taxiing and on the grounds of an waste industrial incinerator.  Ross McKitrick, professor of economics at the University of Guelph, Canada, an invitee to a recent IPCC event said, “We concluded, with overwhelming statistical significance, that the IPCC’s climate data are contaminated with surface effects from industrialization and data quality problems. These add up to a large warming bias.”
  • And last from Professor Phil Jones, former director of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit comes the following admissions: 
  1. For the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.
  2. Conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now.  (This would imply global warming is not a man-made phenomenon.)
  3. Admitted he had “trouble” keeping track of the raw data that was critical to the theory of climate change. (What the hell does that mean – you’re a scientist?)

The proof against this scam is starting to pile up. The story is unraveling. So what’s next? Will it die?

Will the Obama administration call a time out and attempt to sort out the truth from the lies? After all, this is a huge piece of their political agenda. One would think they would want to be sure they are on the right track before pushing the country and our economy down a path from which there is no return.

To get the answer we turn to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) administrator Jane Lubchenco, who was asked this question on NPR, “Last week we saw some really unusual weather patterns not only through the mid-Atlantic but even today in the southern part of the US.  What do you think has made this year so different?” To which she replied, “It’s important that people recognize that weather is not the same as climate, and record-breaking storms neither negate nor approve climate change.  This year we have indeed seen a lot of seemingly strange things — record snowfalls in the mid-Atlantic region — even though the planet is warming.  And this isn’t a contradiction, and it’s not really unexpected.  The multiple snowstorms we’ve been seeing this winter with more on the way likely are a result of the confluence of El Nino and the Arctic Oscillation”.

Of course, this is true – El Nino and the Arctic Oscillation are cyclical parts of our weather pattern and occur regardless of man-made activity. The point being that weather is weather and climate change if it does exist would need other scientific data besides weather to support it. However, the environmental elite want to have it both ways. They want to point at weather when it suits their argument and discredit it when it doesn’t. That is why they renamed it “climate change” from “global warming”, after all.

As for Ms. Lubchenco, she just keeps pushing the administrations agenda. When asked, “What is your reaction to the growing sense around the country, perhaps even around the world, that global warming is a hoax?” She replied, “Climate change is underway.  It’s happening now.  It is resulting in many changes that will affect the way people live and do business.  And the fact that we are getting more and more requests for information about droughts, about future heat waves, about air quality, forest fires, sea level rise inundating coasts…” Really?

“It (Climate Change) has become completely political — it’s not about science at all,” said Fox affiliate WDAF  chief meteorologist, Mike Thompson “If science were the objective, then we would be seeing an entirely different debate. But there are agendas at play, and it has undermined the credibility of climate science.”

Remember this…

Quote from the Club of Rome: “In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill….All these dangers are caused by human intervention….and thus the “real enemy, then, is humanity itself….believe humanity requires a common motivation, namely a common adversary in order to realize world government. It does not matter if this common enemy is “a real one or….one invented for the purpose.” (The Club of Rome is an elitist think tank founded in 1968 and dedicated to limiting growth of the industrialized nations worldwide.)

…Or this?

UN Secretary Ban Ki-Moon: “ All agree that climate change is an existential threat to humankind. … The issues are complex, affecting everything from national economies to individual lifestyles. They involve political trade-offs and commitments of resources no leader can undertake lightly. … Yet the elements of a deal are on the table. All we require to put them in place is political will. We need to step back from narrow national interest and engage in frank and constructive discussion in a spirit of global common cause”.

First, all do not agree that its’ real, much less an eminent threat to the world. Also read what is said closely and it is easy to see the real picture. The goal is a “global common cause”. So what does that mean? Again read carefully. It involves “political trade-offs”, “commitments of resources”, and “the need to step back from narrow national interests”. If you pay attention it is pretty easy to decipher, the plan calls for a worldwide social re-engineering that will lead to world government.

But there are agendas at play, and it has undermined the credibility of climate science.”

There’s your answer! IT IS NOT going away, the climate change scam and the “green agenda” will just keep reinventing itself looking for a way to invade your psyche. The “Progressive Left” will keep trying to find a scare tactic to get us on board because “It does not matter if this common enemy is “a real one or….one invented for the purpose.”

Plain and simple this is a power grab designed to redistribute wealth and reengineer society. In the absence of legislation the Obama administration has used the EPA to continue pushing their agenda declaring carbon dioxide “a harmful greenhouse gas”. They also established a Climate Program inside the NOAA to provide the public with “information on the climate and how it impacts their lives”. Can you say propoganda?

The Next 5 Things: #4 Regulations vs. Legislation

The Obama administration is a poor loser so as the losses begin to pile up watch for the administration to start to change strategy on how to achieve their goals. They are going to the bend rules in Congress, make back room deals and threaten those who don’t fall in line. When that doesn’t work they will use regulatory agencies, parliamentary tricks and executive orders to jam things through. They are running out of time and remember the Progressive motto: “The end justify the means.”

From the Saul Alinsky playbook: Rules for Radicals – In one chapter of his book, Alinsky discusses the question, “Does the end justify the means?” He suggests: the only question regarding the ethics of means and ends is, “Does this particular end justify this particular means?”

Alinsky’s rules of the ethics of means and ends:

  • The judgment of the ethics of means is dependent upon the political position of those sitting in judgment.
  • In war the end justifies almost any means.
  • Judgment must be made in the context of the times in which the action occurred and not from any other chronological vantage point.
  • Concern with ethics increases with the number of means available and vice versa.
  • The less important the end to be desired, the more one can afford to engage in ethical evaluations of means.
  • Generally, success or failure is a mighty determinant of ethics.
  • The morality of a means depends upon whether the means is being employed at a time of imminent defeat or imminent victory.
  • Any effective means is automatically judged by the opposition as being unethical.
  • You do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral garments.
  • Goals must be phrased in general terms like “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity,” “Of the Common Welfare,” “Pursuit of Happiness,” or “Bread and Peace.”

With this as a back drop for their thinking, what can we expect as the clock winds down? Here are two examples: 

  • Cap & Trade has virtually no chance of passing the legislative hurdles to get it through Congress so:
    1. 04-17-09 RODALE NEWS, EMMAUS, PA—“The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today announced that greenhouse gases contribute to air pollution that could endanger public health and welfare, a move that will likely set the stage to regulate harmful emissions, mainly carbon dioxide”.  These regulations will require better fuel efficiency in vehicles as well as regulating large emitters, such as coal-fired power plants. On this one move the agenda will be built and executed – less cars, more mass transit, smart grids, compact fluorescent light bulbs, monitoring your home’s temperature and smart appliances. But wait there will be more – no more disposable coffee cups or bottled water, changing your diet to include less red meat or including more organic food because of their respective “carbon footprints”. The “Green Police” are coming!
    2. On Monday, Feb. 3rd, the administration signed off on final EPA rules to implement a huge expansion of the national bio-fuels mandate. An EPA announcement of the new rules is expected soon. The EPA is considering implementing “international indirect land use changes” when measuring ethanol’s carbon footprint. The phrase refers to the emissions from forest clearing to create cropland in other countries to compensate for increasing use of U.S. corn and soybeans for making fuels. This is important because current law demands that ethanol and other bio-fuels have lower “lifecycle” emissions than gasoline and diesel. The ethanol industry has fought the calculation based on the idea that there is no meaningful way to connect U.S. industry/agriculture to deforestation in places like Brazil or Indonesia. Even if you could, how do you hold either party accountable for the environmental impact of the other? This is also an attempt to tie us to international/U.N. laws which weakens our sovereignty.  
  • Gun Control:
    1. If you can’t legislate something you can always find another path, even for gun control. Remember how Obama put the financial institutions in a stranglehold after giving them bailout cash? Now they are controlling pay and bonuses of executives. So think guns – then think Cass Sunstein and his “Nudge Theory”. Who is the largest purchaser of guns? Federal, state and local governments! So what happens when the government decides to leverage this position with the gun manufacturers? This is already being discussed… more to come.

Don’t forget health care reform is not dead yet either. The President refuses to give up or start over so eventually we may see the Progressives invoke the “nuclear option” of reconciliation to shove it through. There are plenty of other examples but I think you get the point.

So here is what we are faced with – a desperate President whose agenda is being rejected at every turn, a Congress with no backbone and an administration that arrogantly believes it knows what is best for the country regardless of what its’ citizens want. This is a recipe for disaster. We must push back hard – there is no longer time for a “nudge”. Our liberty, freedom, economy and sovereignty hang in the balance. The Constitution is no longer the conscience of the government; it will not stop them because they do not respect it. Desperate politicians will do desperate things.

Make your voice heard. Pay attention to the little things. It is no longer just about the bills being voted on in Congress. It is also about the executive orders, the agency regulations and parliamentary tactics. Take nothing for granted. This is a game that requires our focus and our attention. Remember what the Progressives believe:

Defeat for many of the administrations agenda items is becoming more and more imminent so they will use what ever means necessary to win. No tactic is off limits.

These people are radicals who want to reengineer our society and our nation. Open your eyes America, the Constitution and the American way of life are under attack! The Green Police: A Joke or A Prediction

So we all laughed when we saw the Audi ad during the Super Bowl featuring Cheap Trick’s Dream Police remade as The Green Police. The ad was clever probably appealing to both sides of the Environmental/Climate Change argument as either humorous or serious depending on your point of view. However, upon further review this is a clever  multi-layered propaganda campaign that clearly supports the progressive/green agenda.

“Every day consumers around the globe are faced with a myriad of decisions in their quest to become more environmentally responsible citizens. Paper or plastic? Bottled water or tap water? Gas or electric? Compost bucket or recycling bin? So many questions; yet so many conflicting answers. It can be overwhelming.

Now consumers have help, from the Green Police.

As part of the lead up to their third consecutive Super Bowl ad, Audi has created a fictional Green Police unit that are caricatures of today’s green movement. The Green Police are a humorous group of individuals that have joined forces in an effort to collectively help guide consumers to make the right decision when it comes to the environment. They’re not here to judge, merely to guide these decisions.

Coincidentally, there are numerous real Green Police units globally that are furthering green practices and environmental issues. For example, Israel’s main arm of the Ministry of Environmental Protection. Audi strives to help protect the environment in all aspects of our vehicle manufacturing. Environmental Protection in the area of enforcement and deterrence is called; you guessed it, the Green Police. New York has officers within the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation that are fondly called the Green Police. The Green Police is also the popular name for Vietnam’s Environmental Police Department and the UK has a group who dresses in green as part of the Environment Agency’s squad to monitor excessive CO2 emissions”.

Now watch the ad again and the companion collateral available on the web site and see how funny you really think it is.

Today the Green Movement is the new religion that the world’s elite have created to move their agenda forward. This is being done under the banner of saving the planet, social justice and redistribution of wealth while retaining the power for themselves.

The threat to the world is not man-made global warming or climate change. The threat to the world, is the groups of fanatics who want to impose their values and desires on others.

The government is promising to create more jobs. We know the IRS is hiring agents. What’s next – the EPA and Green Police? It is not really that far fetched. Apparently the Green Police already exist in places around the world including the U.S. If the government has its’ way – will their numbers will continue to grow?

Congress’ inability to pass Cap & Trade resulted in the EPA declaring CO2 a harmful pollutant. With that as its’ launching pad the EPA is promising new regulations next month. There are a host of new federal mandates on everything from outdoor light bulbs and table lamps to water dispensers, commercial hot food cabinets, and Jacuzzis. (Remember the commercial!) Expecting people to be good stewards of the planet is one thing – but to create an environmental Gestapo would be another.

The real objective is social reengineering not saving the planet. It is time to see the green agenda, for what it is. Climate change and the green movement are mostly a giant money making, power grabbing scam for the elite – and YOU are the victim. Wake Up! Do your own research, the truth is out there – this is a scam.

The Next 5 Things: #3 FCC Diversity and Net Neutrality

This is an update of a post from October 2009.

The attack on free speech and a free market media is underway. The administration will attack using an effective combination of legislation and regulation. The alternate media such as cable news, talk radio and the internet are the life line of conservative communications so we must fight back against the government’s plan to increase its’ control and involvement in private media.

Ever heard of Free Press? Until recently I hadn’t either. Here is a blurb from their “About Us” page of their web site:

“Free Press: Reform media. Transform democracy.”

“Free Press is a national, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization working to reform the media. Through education, organizing and advocacy, we promote diverse and independent media ownership, strong public media, quality journalism, and universal access to communications.”

Look at the above statement carefully. Do you see the recurring theme of this administration? (Transform, Organize, Diversity & Public)

Free Press has three main units; Free Press, Save the Internet and Save the News.

What we have next might be the administration’s mission statement for attacking the First Amendment – Free Speech!

Free Press’s executive director Josh Silver wrote a position paper called “Public Media’s Moment” which spells out to President Obama how to take advantage of the opportunity to reshape our national communications structure:

“The growing crisis facing commercial journalism and public media’s unique ability to address it… makes such reform all the more urgent… you have a rare opportunity to achieve real change and reinvent public media.” Adding: “Just as the economic crisis has put an end to free market fundamentalism, so too should the failure of commercial media to adequately serve the public interest end the myth that government has no role in fulfilling society’s information needs.”

Remember this is an administration that lives the creed “never let a crisis go to waste”.

As scary as each of the individual points are consider this statement: “We need to explore how the federal government can best support the future of investigative journalism, beat reporting and quality news in America.”  Is the hair on the back of your neck standing up yet?

Now think back to the comment’s of the FCC’s resident Commie Mark Lloyd, its’ newly appointed Diversity Officer:

In his 2006 book, Prologue to a Farce: Communications and Democracy in America, Lloyd called for making private broadcasting companies pay licensing fees equal to their total operating costs. These funds would be given to public broadcasting outlets to allow them the same funding to support their operations as a private company would have, in other words, corporate wealth redistribution. Money is not the only thing that Lloyd wants redistributed, he wants to “regulate much of the programming on these stations to make sure they focused on ‘diverse views’ and government activities.”  Hmmm, “diverse views” and “government activities.” He is a fan of Hugo Chavez and his state run media so… I wonder what he means by “government activities”?

Let’s not forget that this is a White House that refuses any interaction with Fox News and has all but made them an official enemy of the administration. In fact they have demonstrated that they will go after anyone that dares to question or challenge their agenda. Think – Fox, Chamber of Commerce, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and health insurance companies.

Are you sensing a theme? How about social reengineering through media control? I say it every post and I’ll say it again now, this is another threat to YOUR American way of life!

This is the government moving toward policies that control the media, the internet and free speech. These policies will redistribute wealth and control all the messaging.

Radio and the internet are the primary tools for exchange of conservative ideas and conversation. We can not let them take our voices away. We must fight back and stand up for our rights. Liberty and freedom are ours to lose if we don’t get involved; in the end we will only have ourselves to blame if we do nothing.

The Democrat’s next present to America – Universal Voter Registration

In the very near future, Sen. Chuck Schumer, (D) NY and Rep. Barney Frank, (D) MA are planning to introduce legislation to begin universal voter registration. Their proposal would require automatic registration of all potential voters from government lists such as welfare rolls, unemployment rolls, property tax lists, military records, driver’s license list and even criminal records – basically any list kept by the government or public record would be fair game for inclusion. If you show up in a public file and are of voting age you will be registered whether you request it or not. Another important aspect is that state laws on elections would be overridden by a federal mandate, potentially giving the feds the power to meddle in all state election outcomes.

This is a recipe for all kinds of potential new voter fraud. To start with no matter what they claim, the rule changes will make it possible for illegal aliens to register to vote. Many illegal aliens have driver’s licenses and many others get government benefits. Therefore, they will be included in the lists which will be the source for the voter rolls. It also creates the possibility for people to be registered multiple times because people’s names and other identification information are frequently recorded differently on different lists. The legislation is also expected to give felons the right to vote.

So why is this going to suddenly be a priority piece of legislation for the Democrats? Have you seen the polls lately? With ACORN in trouble for a variety of reasons the Democrat’s “get out the vote machine” may not be available for the critical 2010 election. This legislation may be their best shot at hanging on by introducing a large new voter base that they can manipulate. Maybe the Democrats are not as self destructive as we think – maybe they have a plan after all.

Wake up America! The American way of life is under full scale attack! We must fight back. We can not allow the left to take control of the election process. Voting is a right – of citizens, making both a duty and a privilege! It should be protect by the government for only those whom are entitled to it. Since voting is such a powerful right all citizens should be willing to make the extra effort required to register and prove their citizenship to exercise this right, it is also their duty to help protect the system. If voting is important to you – you will find the time to follow the registration process. Given all the attempted fraud in recent elections we should tighten not loosen the registration system, after all shouldn’t mericans decide the course of the country?

Obama’s approval sinks to record low

According to today’s the Rasmussen Report daily Presidential Tracking Poll indicates 42% Strongly Disapprove of the way Barack Obama is performing as President. Only 23% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of his performance resulting in a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19, the lowest of his presidency. This is the second straight day that his approval rating has fallen to a new low.

The report also says, “The 23% who Strongly Approve matches the lowest level of enthusiasm yet recorded. Just 41% of Democrats Strongly Approve while 69% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, 21% Strongly Approve and 49% Strongly Disapprove. ….Among those who consider the economy to be the most important issue, just 26% Strongly Approve of the President’s performance while 39% Strongly Disapprove. Among those who consider fiscal policy issues the most important, just 1% Strongly Approve and 81% Strongly Disapprove”.

Part of the problem clearly stems from what appears to be a total lack of concern for what voters want, in other words an unwillingness listen to the people. Here are some examples:

Healthcare Reform: A recent Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey indicates that 51% of those surveyed oppose the plan. 40% Strongly Oppose the plan, while just 23% Strongly favor it, a negative index of -17. This has resulted in the lowest level of support for the President’s plan to date at just 41%.

“This suggests that public opinion about the health care plan is hardening,” says Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports. “Despite the fact that most American believe our health care system needs major changes, most are opposed to what Congress is currently doing about it.”

Yet, Congress and the President continue to attempt to ram health care legislation through despite clear and consistent public opposition. While 72% of Democrats favor the plan, while 83% of Republicans and 62% of independents oppose it.

Also 66% of Americans believe that an increase free market in competition for healthcare will provide a better outcome than government regulation. Additionally, 57% believe the cost of healthcare will increase under a government plan and 54% believe the quality will go down.

Other Issues: Americans are split 43% to 43% on the issue of global warming. However, only 22% of Americans consider the UN/IPCC to be a reliable source of information on global warming. 49% disagree, saying the UN is unreliable on the topic and even question their motivations. A large number 29%, remain unsure.

In the meantime, at the UN summit in Copenhagen, Denmark next week the administration plans to advance a proposed international treaty on global warming. Obama has publicly committed the United States to a 17 % decrease in emissions by 2020. If Congress approves of this, critics say such a cut would seriously damage the U.S. economy.

While 47% of those surveyed believe that global warming is mostly the result of cyclical weather cycles, not human activity. Meanwhile the administration, Vice President Al Gore and other climate change activists believe humans are responsible.

U.S. voters (44%) see a conflict between fixing the economy and environmental protection initiatives, 31% disagree. Americans strongly believe congress and the administration must focus on the economy and job creation. 71% say the majority of Congress’ time should be spent on stimulating the economy to create jobs. This is being driven by 29% of companies reporting that their employers are continuing to lay people off.

All of this has led to recent surveys indicating that 71% of Americans are angry at the way the federal government is performing as a whole.

Americans are clearly starting to wake up, now the question is what are they going to do about it.

Copenhagen Update: Redistribution of Wealth and the Human Enterprise

Today’s blog is by guest blogger, Q.W. Johannes; a wise American who has witnessed 80 years of American growth, change and evolution from the Great Depression to the election of Obama. 

The  AP reports “in just 15 years , the annual conferences reviewing the 1992 U.N. climate treaty have grown into  assemblies that, perhaps more than any other, encompass the human enterprise.”  That  is  probably true but in  a  different context than what the writer intended. 

Unfortunately, the “human enterprise” at work in the U.N. has nothing to do with climate change and everything to do with redistribution of wealth  and global governance!  The “human enterprise” is  being directed by  various corrupt government officials in league with unscrupulous global business  leaders , central bankers  and  billionaire manipulators like George Soros. 

The Copenhagen conference regales attendees with fear mongering videos showing  child’s nightmare  of climate change disasters or one with  polar bears falling from the sky and smashing to the pavement below.  Is this a serious presentation of scientific fact or just another pack of lies to strike fear in the hearts of the uninformed masses?  Does anyone still believe the factually flawed Al Gore ? As the  AP  and the rest  of the mainstream media studiously ignore the recent revelations concerning falsified data from the  U.N.’s  scientific advisory panel, the charlatans  press on  with their  fraudulent scam. 

Meanwhile, here at home,  the EPA conveniently announces that  CO 2 is harmful to the health of human beings, you know, the same CO 2 which is a natural by-product of breathing. The EPA announcement is made coincidently as the Copenhagen conference is about to begin. 

The EPA is making these costly regulations without the support of factual scientific data or regard for the economic consequences to America. Instead they are trying to “nudge” as Cass Sunstein likes to say, the legislative process along to force their real agenda.  We need congress to do their job and write appropriate legislation rather than allow the EPA to regulate without oversight. This administration is hijacking the legislative process so they can manipulate the law to drive their agenda.  

So, if the public doesn’t want a treaty that will end our sovereignty, and doesn’t want Cap & Trade, it’s time for action. You must start tracking the votes of your elected officials and holding them accountable for their decisions. If we can make it to November 2010 without the current congress and administration destroying the country or the economy we can vote to throw the irresponsible ones (bums) out. Of course, that would leave us with an almost empty House and Senate. However the good news is it will also provide us an opportunity to start over with legislators who want to do the job they were elected to do starting with defending the country and the constitution. It almost sounds revolutionary!
