03/04/2010 National Day of Action

This post is about a few things; the underlying indoctrination being used to push us towards socialism, the organizations that are behind this hidden agenda and what makes them so dangerous. They have a revolutionary mentality, they subscribe to the idea that you can change fundamentally America.

March 4th was a National Day of Action called for by a coalition of groups working under the banner – Defend Education. So now the real question is – Who are these groups and what do they really stand for?

Thousands of people took to the streets across the country. There were rallies in Wisconsin, Texas, Illinois, at UC Berkeley, which was probably was the biggest and many other locations around the country. Most received only passing coverage by the media, yet these rallies are another example of the socialist forces eating away at the base of our society.

Coalitions such as Defend Education are created to fool people as to the true nature of their agendas. Defend Education sounds noble and meaningful. However, their real messages are; corporations are evil, we want socialism, we want government control and to create social justice.

One significant and noteworthy player in this call to action is Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). SDS is a student organization which promotes the beliefs and agenda of America’s progressive left. The group takes its’ name and inspiration from the original SDS of the 1960s, the largest radical student organization in US history. It was the incubator for the 60’s Weather Underground which spawned Bill Ayers and his bombing attacks on government buildings. The reconstituted version that began its’ comeback around 2006 has gone worldwide. In the past the SDS, was a violent campus organization – will it be again?

Some of the other groups involved in Defend Education are Bail Out the People Movement which is a front for International Answer, a pro communist group and Anakbayan which supports the terrorist groups, Hamas and Hezbollah. Anakbayan is part of the noncommunist core of the “progressive movement”. This group is currently running a campaign against what they call a “U.S. military occupation” of Haiti. The last time I checked the military’s efforts in both Haiti and Chile are humanitarian relief efforts. There are lots of splinter groups participating in the coalition, far too many to mention individually.

There are other groups that most people have never heard of such as “Nation of Aztlan”. This group is made up of activists from numerous organizations including The Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA), and the National Immigration Forum (NIF). This group is the Hispanic answer to Hamas. They believe that most of the southwest should returned to them for establishment of a “Hispanic Homeland”. This would include the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, plus southern Colorado, along with several current Mexican states. They would establish the “Republica del Norte” or the Republic of the North. According to Charles Truxillo, professor, University of New Mexico, this is “an inevitability”. He also says the new “Hispanic Homeland” should be brought into being “by any means necessary.” The logo of this organization sends a clear message – it is an eagle with a stick of dynamite in its claw.

So what were the demands on the National Day of Action, here is a sample from the California website:

Keep in mind this is just from the California website. There are many websites from related groups all over the country.

Of course, SEIU and Andy Stern are also involved, Stern is an original SDS radical. He’s a Leninist which means he subscribes to a theory of dictatorship of the proletariat, led by a revolutionary vanguard party. In his recent book, Stern claims globalization and the economic gap between rich and poor is the primary problem facing the world. The book calls for unions to be the primary leader of social reform, including increased taxation of the wealthy and the need for universal health care.

SEIU and AFSCME, the municipal employees union, are two of the most politically active organizations on the left. There are legitimate reasons for concern about what happens next if the agenda of these groups fail. The extreme left, as Andy Stern points out, “want our money’s worth”. These groups have invested significant time, attention, manpower and money into their agenda – specifically healthcare. They are counting on Barack Obama to make this happen.

Listen to what is being said by those who support these policies about America:

“And this is part of the thing is I don’t think we’re going to be meeting people’s day to day needs and I don’t think we have to help this capitalist system which has met the needs of American working people on the backs of third world plantations for my whole lifetime. We don’t have to help that. We have to help bring this government down. We have to help destroy this system and that requires increasing the alienation that working class and oppressed people feel”. – Jeb Brandt, aka The Bald Communist

So what is the fallout potential if their agenda fails? We always here about the tea parties being the home of right wing extremists – so what of the left? Remember their history – Bill Ayers, the Weather Underground, the SDS? The potential for violence is very real.

Make no mistake, the left will pull out all the stops, claims former SDS member and leftist, David Horowitz. As he explained on a recent appearance on the Glenn Beck Show, “I have experience of this. I mean, I was a very intellectual leftist. I never threw a rock. But as the editor of Ramparts magazine, which is the biggest magazine of the left, I was approached … by a defector from our intelligence services. And we printed national secrets in the magazine and, of course, nothing, nothing happened to us. We were advised by, I was advised actually, by a Harvard law professor, still a professor of constitutional law on exactly how to commit treason”.

Here’s the problem America, many of the radical left from the 1960s are now the ruling class. They are in Congress. They work at the White House and they are in business. They run the New York Times and the Washington Post. Many of these people were part of the left in the Sixties. The only difference is today they have the power to force their agenda which hasn’t changed. Now however, their tactics are different. They are the new puppet masters, they can stir up the hate and bring the student activists into play. They are in a position to apply pressure on both the top and the middle. Make no mistake the progressives want to “fundamentally transform America”. They want a society that is based on socialism and “social justice”. People need to wake up! The progressives are concealing their real agenda. Healthcare reform, global warming, cap & trade, immigration reform, standing with the unions and all these new social programs have but one purpose: destroy the free markets which will increase government control.

If you believe in the Constitution, you must defend the free market system, you must defend private property, you must defend individual rights and you must oppose group collective rights. The progressives are against the First Amendment when you disagree with them. They are for racial references that create designated groups who they call oppressed. This is America, we do not allow oppression of our citizens. Our laws are being twisted and corrupted. The Constitution and most of our laws are designed to protect our individual rights but our laws do not guarantee level playing field. As individuals we are still responsible for ourselves and our own success. Socialism is about making everyone equal, redistributing wealth and punishing individual initiative.

The code language of socialism has permeated all levels of our educational system. It is the code language of the old Soviet Union. The slogan of the Communist Party at its’ height under Stalin was peace, jobs and democracy. The new code words are hope, change, redistribution of wealth and social justice. Students are taught to demand their rights – not their Constitutional rights but their perceived rights to things such as education, healthcare, good jobs and other entitlements. They are also taught that America is a selfish, imperialistic bully of a nation, that we should be embarrassed/ashamed of our riches and exceptionalism.

America has lost its’ way. The American Dream of prior generations has evolved into a culture of entitlement and consumerism. The original American dream was not merely a dream of big houses, fancy cars and high wages, but a dream of a social order in which each man or woman would be able to have the opportunity to attain to the success that they were innately of capable, regardless of the circumstances of birth. It was about a national experience of patriotism and a common success shared by many.

I was taught by my parents that with hard work, perseverance, integrity and dedication that I could create opportunities that would put me in a position to succeed. I taught my children the same and today all are working and supporting their families.

Sadly, today for many Americans it has degenerated into a culture that focuses on bringing prosperity to oneself. Greed, unethical behavior and overriding self interest for many have replaced patriotism, ethical behavior, hard work and a sense of community.

As we have added layer after layer to our social and entitlement programs our national debt and our need for tax revenue have taken on lives of their own. Many now believe that it is the responsibility of the federal government to take care of them.

It is time for a change! We must find a way to return to our core national values. Doing the right thing does not mean establishing an enormous federal government to provide nanny state oversight so that everything is equal among the citizens. Doing the right thing is creating the opportunity for everyone to succeed according to their abilities. There is no free lunch, not in America or anywhere else!

It is time to stop apologizing to the world for our success. As a citizen of the world we have been a good and giving nation. Can we be a better citizen of the world? Of course, so can every other country on the planet. But to save the country we love and to revive America we must return to our Constitutional government and the freedom it nurtures.

It is time for a National Day of Action. A day when Americans stop and remember what made us Americans, a day when we rededicate ourselves to the Constitution and to our original form of government – A Constitutional Republic.

Restore the Republic, Reject Socialism!

I’ll close with some words of wisdom from a few of our founding fathers and great leaders:

“If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretence of taking care of them, they must become happy”. – Thomas Jefferson

“With respect to the two words ‘general welfare,’ I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators.” — James Madison

“To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.” — Thomas Jefferson

“If you want total security, go to prison. There you’re fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking… is freedom”. – Dwight D. Eisenhower

“The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government — lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.” — Patrick Henry

“A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have,” – Gerald Ford

The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’ -Ronald Reagan

“But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty, once lost, is lost forever”. – John Adams

Indoctrination of a Nation

University of Minnesota calls for ideological purity for teachers

When did ideological purity become a prerequisite to attaining a teaching degree? The University of Minnesota wants to cleanse the Minnesota education system of cultural biases. Therefore, it will expect its’ education graduates to confess to their own bigotry if they believe in the American dream of equal opportunity.

These are the conclusions of the Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group at the U’s College of Education and Human Development. Specifically the task force says that future teachers must dismiss the idea of “the American Dream” in order to obtain their teaching licensure required by the state.

The task force proposes making race, class and gender politics the “overarching framework” for all teaching courses at the university. In January, planners will review the recommendations and decide how to proceed.

The first step toward “cultural competence,” says the task group, is for future teachers to recognize — and confess — their own bigotry”. This will be achieved through exercises designed to allow prospective teachers to describe their own prejudices, stereotypes and take a “cultural intelligence” assessment. The assessment is designed to help them identify their own racism, classism and other cultural assumptions.

According to the task force the objective is to ensure that “future teachers will be able to discuss their own histories and current thinking drawing on notions of white privilege, hegemonic masculinity, heteronormativity, and internalized oppression.” These teachers will be required to champion social justice, “to explain how institutional racism works in schools” and acknowledge the flaws in the American Dream. They also recommend requiring “our future teachers” to “articulate a sophisticated and nuanced critical analysis” of this view of the American promise.

This is liberal indoctrination and manipulation for adults. It is also further proof that in the ranks of higher education there is a concerted effort to drive a social re-engineering of our country.

Indoctrination and manipulation is for kids too! Meet the Earth Scouts….

After watching “The Story of Stuff” (http://wp.me/pv8jP-9r) you’ll feel really bad if you are only 7 or 8 years old. But maybe you would feel better if you could help fix the broken planet you live on… I know you could join the Earth Scouts!

That’s right – The Earth Scouts. I know, I know – who the hell are the Earth Scouts?

From their website:

“Earth Scouts is an inclusive, co-educational scouting program, in which facilitators provide a cooperative learning environment for future community leaders and change agents seeking sustainability, equity and nonviolence. Earth Scouts are the parents, teachers, mentors and youth who come together to engage in a shared learning experience that teaches and supports understanding and action on community issues in ways that are congruent with the Earth Charter. Earth Scouts is a program of Earth Charter U.S.”

“…Earth Scouts is more than a scouting program. It is a group experience in which each child or youth:

Finds his/her voice for leadership;

Understands the complexity of sustainability—that it involves social and economic equity, environmental soundness, nonviolence and peace;

Takes the responsibility to transform her/his concerns into action either as an individual or as a group.

“… Earth Scouts is a way of life and a way of perceiving the world that is connected to the Earth Charter, a larger shared global vision for a caring, sustainable and peaceful world.”

“The Earth Charter, is a set of values and principles for a sustainable future written by thousands of people in 78 countries over the course of ten years. It was launched at The Hague Peace Palace in 2000.

The sixteen Earth Charter principles focus on respect for nature, economic justice, universal human rights, and a culture of peace. The Earth Charter has been used as a foundation for businesses, governments, and communities working towards building a just, sustainable, and peaceful society.

It is based on 50 UN Declarations, 200 agreements of non-governmental organizations, the perspectives of contemporary science and cosmology, the wisdom of world religions and ancient and current sustainable ways of living and working.”

“Earth Scouts nurtures the development of children and youth in learning and participatory actions to improve their neighborhoods and communities. A large body of research validates the importance of community service activities in the positive psychological, social and intellectual growth of youthful participants. Short-term outcomes include improved grades and attendance at school, increased personal efficacy, recognition of the importance of participating in the political system, and socially responsible, community-oriented attitudes. Long-term outcomes include increased likelihood of voting in adulthood, commitment to future service, decreased likelihood of dropping out of school, improved transition from school to work, and a strong intrinsic work motivation. In short, research shows that giving children and youth opportunities to become engaged in civic activities increases the likelihood that they will become healthy, active citizens.”

“ECUS’s mission is to mainstream the Earth Charter’s vision and principles through inspiration, education and initiatives that include the Earth Charter Community Alliance, an informal network of Earth Charter organizers around the country; global annual Earth Charter Community Summits; and Earth Scouts. Other projects in development include the Sustainable Business Coalition, an Earth Charter Curricula for Education, the development of Earth Charter Community Indicators, an Earth Charter Leadership Academy and the League of Earth Charter Voters.”

Boy, I am so bummed they didn’t have this when I was a kid – NOT! If you read this crap closely you will see this another major indoctrination effort of the green movement to politically manipulate our kids. Sorry to be so cynical but does this sound like fun to anyone? There is nothing wrong with educating kids about the environment. When I was a kid, I was a Boy Scout. It was fun and educational. Almost every rank and many merit badges included some form of conservation project. We learned about nature, conservation, astronomy, biology and having fun; but nobody was cramming a political agenda down our throats.

Pay attention to the words from their website; here are just a handful that are very telling: sustainability, personal efficacy, environmental soundness, social and economic equity all of these sound noble on the surface but when you factor in – “It is based on 50 UN Declarations, 200 agreements of non-governmental organizations, the perspectives of contemporary science and cosmology, the wisdom of world religions and ancient and current sustainable ways of living and working.” it begins to sound more like another scheme to indoctrinate the youth and convert them into “environmental community organizers”. Also it is hard to overlook that a stated objective is “recognition of the importance of participating in the political system.” In any normal youth program an enhanced sense of citizenship and its’ value is a desired outcome. However that is not the same as saying, “increased likelihood of voting in adulthood” is a stated goal. Or that Earth Scouts is a way of life and a way of perceiving the world that is connected to the Earth Charter, a larger shared global vision for a caring, sustainable and peaceful world.

Let’s be honest – we all want a cleaner, healthier, more peaceful world but the path to that goal is not through youth political movements designed to indoctrinate but disguised as scouting.

From the website it is difficult to tell who is funding this worldwide program but I sure would like to know. I have a few suspects but I’ll keep them to myself until I have proof.

Wake up America! We are surrounded and now they are after our kids!

“This is one of those issues that you just can’t put down, … It is a fantastic read, and will leave you with no doubt whatsoever that America’s colleges today have become radical indoctrination centers ? and your kids are the target.” – Joseph Farah

Restore the Republic, Reject the Socialist Agenda!

Watch this video, it is unreal. This another propoganda campaign aimed at our school children. This video is already being shown in schools and churches in the US. The message is that capitalism is evil. The video is a product of the Progressive Left, George Soros and The Tides Foundation. It is being used around the world and is available in several languages.

There is also another version that has been released by conservatives which debunks the crap that is in the Tides version. Watch that version on the link below:

“We remark with special satisfaction those [favorable circumstances] which, under the smiles of Providence, result from the skill, industry and order of our citizens managing their own affairs in their own way and for their own use, unembarrassed by too much regulations, unoppressed by fiscal exactions.” –Thomas Jefferson

Quick Hits…..More “Bright Ideas” and other government idiocracy

“If we’re looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn’t test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power.”
P. J. O’Rourke

President Obama announces new light bulb standards…

“I know light bulbs may not seem sexy, but this simple action holds enormous promise because 7 percent of all the energy consumed in America is used to light our homes and businesses,” the president said, standing alongside Energy Secretary Steven Chu at the White House.

Obama said the new efficiency standards he was announcing for lamps would result in substantial savings between 2012 and 2042, saving consumers up to 4 billion annually, conserving enough energy to power every U.S. home for 10 months, reducing emissions equal to the amount produced by 166 cars a year, and eliminating the need for as many as 14 coal-fired power plants.

The president also said he was speeding the delivery of $346 million in economic stimulus money to help improve energy efficiency in new and existing commercial buildings.

The White House is working to keep energy in the spotlight even as Congress takes a break this week for the July 4 holiday. Obama has spent the past few days pressuring the Senate to follow the House while also seeking to show that the administration is making quick, clear progress on energy reform without legislation.

Still, in an interview with a small group of reporters, Obama energy adviser Carol Browner said: “I am confident that comprehensive energy legislation will pass the Senate.” But she repeatedly refused to say exactly when the White House expected the Senate to pass the measure, and she wouldn’t speculate on whether Obama would have legislation sent to his desk by year’s end.

The administration already had released new standards on commercial refrigeration. Lamps were next. (Source: Fox News)

Now that the President got the ball rolling, NJ has jumped on the band wagon with “Project Porch Light”. Free light bulbs for everyone….. Read more at:

This apparently is a “huge national issue” – light bulb efficiency, good thing we have that out of the way, now maybe we can focus on; job creation, fixing the economy, improving national defense, border security and reducing the national debt.

It is not an arrogant government that chooses priorities; it’s an irresponsible government that fails to choose.” – Tony Blair

Barney Frank wants to spend the repaid TARP money again instead of returning the money to the Treasury to pay down public debt…

On June 27th, Rep. Barney Frank (D) MA, introduced new legislation to divert repaid TARP funds to new Democrat supported housing initiatives. His new bill is called TARP for Main Street Act of 2009.  According to the original bill recovered funds “shall be paid into the general fund of the Treasury for reduction of the public debt.” However, Barney wants to spend it again right away and ignore the requirements of the bill. This is becoming typical behavior for the Democrats these days.

The proposed bill breaks down as follows; take $1 billion and use it to create a trust fund for low-income rental housing which Frank has wanted for a long time.  (This unfunded measure was part of last year’s bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.)  Another $1.5 billion would be used to set up a “neighborhood stabilization” fund.  Critics have charged that these measures might allow federal dollars to be distributed to activist groups such as ACORN. The thought of any more of our money ending up in the hand of those crooks is unthinkable!

The bill also includes $2 billion to subsidize individuals with delinquent mortgages and another $2 billion to “stabilize multifamily properties that are in default or foreclosure.”

“If stupidity got us into this mess, then why can’t it get us out?” – Will Rogers

Even worse, despite the near economic meltdown that was triggered by the mortgage defaults last year, Rep. Frank and N.Y. Rep. Anthony Weiner have sent a letter to the heads of Fannie and Freddie recommending that they lower lending standards for condo buyers. Wasn’t that how we got into this mess in the first place?

After blaming the current crisis on a lack of appropriate regulation and lax lending standards which resulted in bad loans that should not have been approved, Rep. Frank wants Fannie and Freddie to provide more aggressive (lower) lending standards again. These lower standards would specifically apply to condo developments with a high percentage of unsold units or high delinquency rates.

These guys are unbelievable! If we don’t get them out of office, their policies will destroy our economy. Of course, since social reengineering and redistribution of wealth are on their agenda that might just be part of the plan. Do you really want to live in a socialist, possibly even a fascist country? Think about it!

Gov. Schwarzenegger considers temporarily closing state parks to save money during California budget crisis… Feds threaten to seize parks if the plan is approved

“The mystery of government is not how Washington works but how to make it stop.”
P. J. O’Rourke

Scrambling to find ways to reduce operating costs Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has proposed closing 220 state parks to save $143 million. The California Legislature is considering the move to reduce the $26 billion budget deficit.

However, six parks on the list are on land that was formerly federal property and as a result the federal government could seize the land if the parks are closed. The Governor was recently warned that this was a possibility by National Park Service Regional Director Jonathan Jarvis. Schwarzenegger was also informed that the closures could result in the loss of other federal funding of the California Parks budget.

While I have virtually no sympathy for California and the mess they find themselves in, I can’t help but be annoyed at the federal government’s position on this. It seems that no matter what Schwarzenegger tries to do to save money the Feds step in to tell him why he can’t do it. Remember when he tried to renegotiate state contracts with SEIU? That was  immediately shot down by the White House with funding cut threats. It makes you wonder if they really want California to solve their problems without Federal intervention. This type of interference is exactly the reason there needs to be separation between state and federal government. If state governments only took federal funding for things that are directly related to federal projects such as infrastructure and defense; they would be able to operate under the states’ rights provisions in the Constitution. Instead, the long strings attached to federal funds reduce the sovereignty states’ rights would otherwise provide.

The six parks are; Angel Island, a former federal military and immigration facility; the top of Mount Diablo,  once a Navy microwave relay station; Point Sur State Park in coastal Big Sur; and three beaches Fort Ord Dunes near Monterey, Point Mugu State Park near Malibu, and Border Fields along the Mexican border. All prime California real estate; some is even beach front – Hmmm …. Maybe, this is just an opportunity for a federal land grab!

After all, the way the administration is growing the size of the federal government; it might outgrow D.C. before we know it. Since so many of the crazies in charge are from the Golden State (Pelosi, Waxman, Feinstein and Boxer to name a few), maybe the real plan is to force the state into bankruptcy, buy it with taxpayer money, nationalize it and set up D.C. West. I mean think about it, the House and the Senate could just meet via video conference (D.C. East and West); each representative could travel to the closest site resulting in huge travel savings. How green would that be?  – (Plus Pelosi wouldn’t have to keep bugging the military for use of a jet)

Best jobs ever… all play; no work, no worries

(Karen Matthews, Associated Press, N.Y.) Hundreds of New York City public school teachers accused of offenses ranging from insubordination to sexual misconduct are being paid their full salaries to sit around all day playing Scrabble, surfing the Internet or just staring at the wall, if that’s what they want to do.

Because their union contract makes it extremely difficult to fire them, the teachers have been banished by the school system to its “rubber rooms” — off-campus office space where they wait months, even years, for their disciplinary hearings.

The 700 or so teachers can practice yoga, work on their novels, paint portraits of their colleagues — pretty much anything but school work. They have summer vacation just like their classroom colleagues and enjoy weekends and holidays through the school year.

Because the teachers collect their full salaries of $70,000 or more, the city Department of Education estimates the practice costs the taxpayers $65 million a year. The department blames union rules.

“It is extremely difficult to fire a tenured teacher because of the protections afforded to them in their contract,” spokeswoman Ann Forte said.

City officials said that they make teachers report to a rubber room instead of sending they home because the union contract requires that they be allowed to continue in their jobs in some fashion while their cases are being heard. The contract does not permit them to be given other work.

Of course, you probably won’t be surprised to find out that this practice also goes on in California…

The Los Angeles district, the nation’s second-largest school system with 620,000 students, behind New York’s 1.1 million, said it has 178 teachers and other staff members who are being “housed” while they wait for misconduct charges to be resolved. To read the full story, go to: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090622/ap_on_re_us/us_rubber_rooms

My guess is that L.A.’s 178 “special cases” are costing them about $25 million. You would think that if these people are going to get paid they should have to perform some productive work. Does anyone believe that there is nothing productive that they could be doing, if the contract was ammended? So why isn’t someone correcting this? I am sure if anyone tried to step in and fix the contract, the administration would step in to stop it. These days, the best jobs are union jobs. At least it seems, they are the only ones the government is interested in protecting.

“Let’s reintroduce corporal punishment in the schools – and use it on the teachers.”
