Obama Plans 10 Million Acre Land Grab

As I have warned in previous posts the agenda to “fundamentally transform America” is following the Cloward/Piven handbook of community organizing. While the attention of the nation is focused on the health care debate, the administration has multiple agenda items moving full speed ahead and going relatively unnoticed. Their strategy is an elaborate shell game designed to keep us off balance and unable to keep up with the all changes in motion at any given time.

Their plan to grab over 10 million acres of land is an excellent example of one such item. At a time when the administration has promised to help create jobs and put Americans back to work the land grab they are secretly considering could actually put more people out of work. Recently a Department of the Interior memo surfaced revealing plans for the federal government to seize more than 10 million acres from Montana to New Mexico. The plan will increase federal control over energy-rich land in the West. The effects of this land grab includes killing jobs in forestry, mining and energy. The collateral damage is the tax revenue these industries generate.

The land grab also circumvents states right’s. By using the 1906 Antiquities Act, Obama can stop all development of the land and limit its’ use by humans. The unfortunate part of this is the president doesn’t need anyone’s consent to do this. There are no checks or balances in this process, the president can and probably act unilaterally through presidential proclamation.

The memo was made public by Rep. Robert Bishop, R -UT. He feared another unilateral land grab by the White House was in the making. Former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter both used this technique. Carter grabbed 50 million acres of land in Alaska against the state’s will and Clinton used the tool 22 times to grab another 5.9 million acres around the country.

There are many sites on the administration’s list that have key energy resources that could be developed such as oil and gas reserves. However, environmentalists that support the administration want these sites locked down to protect “animals and nature”. Again – at a time when energy independence should be a priority, why would the administration get in the way?

The scary thing here is that while the country languishes in recession the government appears to be working against recovery. Stopping use of public land for activities that will create jobs, energy independence and other revenue generating opportunities is just wrong!

Sen. Jim DeMint R-SC, tried to put through legislation to block any attempt by the administration to grab land under the old law but the Democrats in the Senate voted it down 58-38 this week.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, of course, voted against it even though his state is the poster child for why this is bad policy. Nevada, a state where 80% of the land is controlled by the federal government, is currently suffering 12.8% unemployment even though it is a state that is rich in natural resources. Nationwide the government currently owns 650 million acres which is 29% of the country’s land. Yet they want more! Taking more land out of use will only further hinder economic recovery.

Seizing land from states without their consent is un-American. We must stop new plans to take land away from states’ and restrict its’ use. Restricting use of the nation’s resources will hurt job creation and tax revenues. This means no new jobs for unemployed Americans.

There is another troubling aspect to this story. What is the real purpose behind of all these land grabs? I know you are thinking – OK here comes the conspiracy theory. Well you be the judge but there is overwhelming evidence that there is an international movement to change the use of land and natural resources around the world. It is linked to “Climate Change” and the “green movement”. In the U.S. there are many environmental guerilla movements most of which are run by hard core progressives.

Have you ever heard of the Wildlands Network, formerly known as the Wildlands Project?

Explanation of the Biodiversity Treaty and the Wildlands Project

The Statutory Framework of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves, The Seville Agreement for the MAB Program, and the Strategic Plan for the USMAB all state the MAB Program is designed to help implement the Convention on Biological Diversity, a treaty currently before the US Senate for ratification. Likewise, Section 13.4.2.2.3 of the United Nations Global Biodiversity Assessment defines the Wildlands Project as the basis for preserving biodiversity for the Convention on Biological Diversity. The Wildlands Project is based on the science of conservation biology and was developed by Dr. Michael Soule, co-founder and first president of the Society For Conservation Biology; Dr. Reed Noss, current editor for the journal of Conservation Biology; and David Foreman, co-founder and long-time leader of Earth First!

The science of conservation biology was largely created by the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature). The IUCN is an accredited UN advisor and is comprised of government agencies and NGOs (non-governmental organizations). These include the EPA, US Forest Service, US National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, The Sierra Club, National Wildlife Federation, Natural Resources Defense Council, The Nature Conservancy, Society for Conservation Biology, and many others. The IUCN is also one of the primary promoters and : developers of the Convention on Biological Diversity. This perhaps explains why the US Government and environmental organizations appear to be working in concert to implement the Wildlands Project and Biodiversity Treaty even though the treaty has not been ratified.

This map is drawn under the supervision of a PhD. in Ecology, and follows instructions provided by the Wildlands Project, the UN/US MAB, and the rapidly increasing control within US counties through the UN/US Heritage programs. This is especially true for counties having federal land, particularly in the Western US. The map incorporates, when available, actual maps as well as a multitude of government and environmental literature demanding various reserves or national parks interconnected with corridors.

The interpeted map is based on the strategy and procedures laid out in what is known as the Wildlands Project and the UN/US Man and the Biosphere Program (MAB). Both are based on the need of protecting biological diversity using core wilderness reserves which are surrounded by buffer zones that variably regulate human activity to protect the attributes of the core reserves (see below). Areas not included in core reserves or buffer zones are zones of cooperation where regulations are designed to favor biodiversity and ecosystems.

Here is a quote from one of their founders:

For instance, say you own a cattle ranch that sits astride a valley that forms a natural link between two massifs in Montana, and that is vital for a link in the system. And say that I, a stranger, show up one day and ask you to donate your ranch to a conservancy or to the state. At first you would probably think me a fool. At worst you would feel attacked, especially if I said that there would be a bill introduced into the legislature that would declare your land to be a critical habitat, thus justifying its condemnation. But if you had been a partner in an open planning process, you might be more disposed to the conservation objectives of the program, if not the means of realizing it. And it might make a big difference if I told you that I wasn’t asking you to give up ranching on your land, but to consider leaving it to a conservancy after the death of your children, by which time cattle ranching in Montana would probably not be economic.” – Michael Soule: co-founder of the Society for Conservation Biology, serves on the Wildlands Project board and teaches in the Environmental Studies Department at the University of California at Santa Cruz.Whether the government’s motives are tied to The Wildlands Network and environmental crazies or just bad public policies – the theft of state and private property by the federal government must stop. (Note: the similarity in the two maps)This is yet another trampling of individual freedoms and our constitutional rights.

America, it is time to wake up! Our country is being stolen from us while we watch. Are you ready to stop the madness? Open your eyes, the Constitution and the American way of life are under attack! You must fight back, the threat is real. There are “progressives” in our government who want to “fundamentally transform America”. This transformation is underway. Will you help stop it?

“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.” –Samuel Adams

Restore the Republic, Reject the Agenda of the Progressive Left!

“The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government — lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.” — Patrick Henry
