The Next 5 Things: #5 Indoctrination of the Nation

America is in a period of significant transition. We are at a crossroads in our history. Our choice is between embracing our history & heritage or choosing a path toward socialism & big government.

The Progressives want the latter. Part of their plan to take us there includes the indoctrination of our youth and college age citizens. This indoctrination is a multi-pronged attack that includes advertising, movies, television, recreational pursuits such as scouting, boys and girls clubs as well as an educational curriculum that has revised our national history.

The messaging that exists is clear. It starts with elementary school children being taught songs that idolize the president.

It moves to anti capitalism propaganda courtesy of the Progressive Left, George Soros and The Tides Foundation. One example is a video called “The Story of Stuff”. This video is being shown in schools and churches around the US. The message is that capitalism is evil. Our government is the servant of industry. We (the U.S.) are raping other countries around the world of their resources and generally destroying the planet. This video is being used around the world and is available in several languages. The video’s goal: to shame American children for “our evil behavior” and to reinforce negative stereotypes of the U.S. in the rest of the world. If you have not seen it you must watch this video. After watching “The Story of Stuff” you’ll probably feel really bad if you are only 7 or 8 years old. But maybe you would feel better if you could help fix the broken planet you live on… I know you could join the Earth Scouts!

That’s right – The Earth Scouts. I know, I know – who the hell are the Earth Scouts?

Pay attention to the words from their website; here are just a handful that are very telling: sustainability, personal efficacy, environmental soundness, social and economic equity all of these sound noble on the surface but when you factor in – “It is based on 50 UN Declarations, 200 agreements of non-governmental organizations, the perspectives of contemporary science and cosmology, the wisdom of world religions and ancient and current sustainable ways of living and working.” it begins to sound more like another scheme to indoctrinate the youth and convert them into “environmental community organizers”. Also it is hard to overlook that a stated objective is “recognition of the importance of participating in the political system.” In any normal youth program an enhanced sense of citizenship and its’ value is a desired outcome. However that is not the same as saying, “increased likelihood of voting in adulthood” is a stated goal. Or that Earth Scouts is a way of life and a way of perceiving the world that is connected to the Earth Charter, a larger shared global vision for a caring, sustainable and peaceful world.

Next we have the high school and college age kids. They are being told by their teachers and professors as well as the president’s web site that their parents just don’t get it. There is a video from BarackObama.com that shows the children explaining things to the adults. The kids do not just feel the need to educate their parents and discuss the issues with them. Instead you are left with the feeling that Mom and Dad are stupid. They still believe in that crazy Constitution thing. The president seems to be saying; you must educate your parents because you get it and they don’t.  Here is a sample from the video:

So when my cousins and I have to talk to them about why we as the future generations really need Obama as the president.

We start out easily and just start saying, oh, watch the debate. And then we’ll say, well, we really think that what Obama or Biden said about energy is really important because we need to start fixing that now before it will be too late.

This type of indoctrination should scare parents everywhere. My next comment will draw fire from the Progressives who read my blog so that can fire nasty tweets at me on Twitter but the last time these types of tactics were used was during the rise of the Third Reich, when German children turned on there own parents after being brainwashed by the government.

There is also the use of art as propaganda, another Third Reich favorite. There was the NEA controversy when the White House attempted to use the NEA to create propaganda art to support their agenda message.

Examples of recent “Obama Propaganda Art”

In case you think I am exaggerating or pinning something on the president he is not really involved in, read this:

Hollywood is also helping the president with his propaganda agenda. Remember, Green Week at GE-owned NBC. This is a special form of broadcast television — especially on NBC, who has their prime time lineup participating in fascinating “green” storylines.

Have you had enough yet? Are you worried about your kids, they are being bombarded with the “settled science” of global warming” and other propaganda straight from Hollywood, MTV and their favorite celebrities.

There also is the corruption of our history. The Constitution and the American Revolution are no longer given the attention they deserve. The accounts of history have been modified to fall in line with the Progressive agenda. (This is an entire blog to itself.) Civics has been replaced with current events. Text books are a joke and in most schools the kids aren’t allowed to take them home. I think they are afraid the parents might see what is in them. We no longer say the Pledge of Allegiance or sing the “The Star Spangled Banner”. God has been banned from schools but we teach evolution and sex education. This started long before the Obama administration. The Progressives have been a cancer on the country for the past 100 years. Here is their view of education:

In fact, educating the individual is but a means to the true end of education, which is to create a viable social order to which individuals contribute and by which they are sustained. “Family choice” is, therefore, basically selfish and anti-social in that it focuses on the “wants” of a single family rather than the “needs” of society”. – The Association of California School Administrators

Where are the teachers, the parent’s partner in education and our last line of defense in the classroom? Unfortunately, most are in the union and now many are on the side of the Progressives. Higher education was taken over long ago by the left – slowly evolving to the most radically “progressive section of the country”. Leaving nothing to chance colleges like the University of Minnesota have added ideological purity as a prerequisite to attaining a teaching degree.

The conclusions of the Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group at the U’s College of Education and Human Development says that future teachers must dismiss the idea of “the American Dream” in order to obtain their teaching licensure required by the state.

The task force proposes making race, class and gender politics the “overarching framework” for all teaching courses at the university.

The first step toward “cultural competence,” says the task group, is for future teachers to recognize — and confess — their own bigotry”. This will be achieved through exercises designed to allow prospective teachers to describe their own prejudices, stereotypes and take a “cultural intelligence” assessment. The assessment is designed to help them identify their own racism, classism and other cultural assumptions.

According to the task force the objective is to ensure that “future teachers will be able to discuss their own histories and current thinking drawing on notions of white privilege, hegemonic masculinity, heteronormativity, and internalized oppression.” These teachers will be required to champion social justice, “to explain how institutional racism works in schools” and acknowledge the flaws in the American Dream. They also recommend requiring “our future teachers” to “articulate a sophisticated and nuanced critical analysis” of this view of the American promise.

This is liberal indoctrination and manipulation for adults. It is also further proof that in the ranks of higher education there is a concerted effort to drive a social re-engineering of our country.

The administration continues to treat the American public, who they are supposed to be serving, as if we are deaf, dumb and blind. Worse yet they believe that we are easily manipulated. Their behavior, their totally disdain for our Constitution and their tactics are insult to our intelligence.

I am truly running out of new things to say about what is going on. America – this is wrong! What has happened to our country in less than a year? What is worse; is there is historical precedent for the type of things we are seeing. There is a force at work intent on “transforming” our country. Hope and Change sounds positive but the transformation so far seems much more insidious. There are red flags all over this administration; what is their end game? We need to find out before it is too late. For those who will say I am a conspiracy theorist, I say – Really? If it was one thing, one or two red flags, you would have an argument but every day we hear something new. They are not listening to us.  This my friends is not how it is supposed to be in America.

Bottom line: America is in the biggest fight in our history to protect – Our way of life, our freedom, our liberties, our sovereignty and the American Dream! If you love this country and you are not involved yet – What are you waiting for? Stand up, Fight back and Make your voice heard!

Obama Approval Index Hits -21

According to Rasmussen Reports, President Obama has matched his lowest Approval Index rating. This is the second time his Approval Index has gone this low. The last time was in late December as the Senate prepared to approve its version of health care reform. It hardly seems a coincidence given this week’s health care summit.

Also a new Rasmussen Reports phone survey finds that 56% of those surveyed oppose the proposed health care reform plans. This includes 45% who strongly oppose the plans while only 23% strongly favor it. The level of opposition has remained strong and consistent since last November.

The president called for a bipartisan summit meeting to get his health care reform plan back on track. The meeting was held this week. In response to the meeting surveys show that 61% of voters said Congress should scrap the current proposals and go back to the drawing board. The president is adamant that he won’t start over and that he will pass something this year. This has resulted in 50% of those surveyed saying the president has done a poor job in handling the health care reform issue.

Other Observations from Rasmussen:

Eighty-three percent (83%) of Americans say the size of the federal budget deficit is due more to the unwillingness of politicians to cut government spending than to the reluctance of taxpayers to pay more in taxes.

Only 11% of American adults think the nation needs to increase its deficit spending to improve the economy. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 70% disagree and say it would be better to cut the deficit.

President Obama – what will it take to get you to listen. The will of the people is clear. They want reduced spending, lower taxes and start over on health care reform. They want more jobs and they believe that the free market is the answer to solving that problem. The priority is jobs not health care.

For the second straight week there was bad news in the weekly job report. In the week ending Feb. 20, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 496,000, an increase of 22,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 474,000. The previous week’s labor department job report showed initial claims for unemployment benefits increased 31,000 to 473,000.

Most of us do not believe the economy is growing stronger just because the bleeding has slowed. We are still losing jobs; more people have become discouraged and quit looking which is the only reason the unemployment rate dropped to 9.7% in January. Officially there are 14,453,421 unemployed but the real number is 24,197,207 with 38,917,749 receiving food stamps. The 2010 year to date figures show another 856,357 foreclosures have occurred as well as 1,406,434 bankruptcies were filed, indicating the problem is far from over.

Conservatives need to keep the heat on. The Republicans are not necessarily the answer as they have proven in the past. Hold everyone accountable! The free market and non governmental job growth coupled with tax cuts and a major spending reduction are the only things that will save our economy.

Fiat Money and the Fort of Gold

According to the government, Fort Knox contains about 147 million troy ounces of gold. The government has a total of 248 million troy ounces of gold, mostly in bars that are 400 troy ounces each. Most of the gold in Fort Knox came from melting of the gold coins confiscated by FDR, and from other government operations while the US was still on the gold standard which we abandoned entirely in 1971.

At today’s prices the gold (248 million troy oz) would be worth an estimated $275,776,000,000 dollars which used to seem like a lot – until we started spending a trillion dollars at a time!

The Treasury Department still operates the United States Bullion Depository at Fort Knox, Kentucky, so what is the gold’s connection to U.S. currency and who owns it?

From 1879 to 1971, the U.S. dollar was backed by gold using what is commonly referred to as the Gold Standard. This meant that the bearer of U.S. currency could exchange it from currency to gold or silver. The government owned large stores of both and used them to maintain a balanced relationship between the value of the currency and gold or silver. This gold standard allowed the government to maintain stable purchasing power for the dollar in both the domestic and international markets.

From 1879 to 1933, the dollar was fully convertible to gold for both domestic and international traders. Gold convertibility was eliminated domestically in 1934 due in large part to the Great Depression. On April 3, 1933 FDR, declared a national emergency and prohibited the “hoarding” of gold coins and bullion by US corporations and citizens, requiring all stockpiles to be returned to the treasury in exchange for paper currency.  However it was maintained for foreign monetary entities until 1971. From 1934 until 1971 Americans could no longer redeem currency for gold. Also during this period private citizens were not allowed to have holdings of gold bullion.

Using a gold standard, the government has a legal limit on how much paper money it can print. During the Johnson administration, the U.S. could print paper dollars equal only to four times the value of the nation’s gold reserves. This sets the stage for trouble if foreign investors decide to cash out their dollars for gold which is exactly what happened. 

In the years leading up to 1971 the US government began printing more and more money to pay for the Vietnam War and other investments.  The excess printing of paper dollars, and the negative balance of U.S. trade, resulted in foreign countries demanding that America make good on its’ “promise to pay”. They began demanding gold from the U.S. in exchange for paper dollars. This led to a run on gold in the late 60’s/early 70’s that resulted in over $22 billion dollars of gold leaving the US Treasury. 

So in 1971 Nixon unilaterally canceled the Bretton Woods system and ending the direct convertibility of the US dollar to gold. In 1971, the United States government abandoned the gold standard. The US dollar was no longer a fixed currency. The dollar became fiat money, meaning it was no longer backed by gold or silver and was not necessarily redeemable even in coin.

This move opened the door for government spending and abuse on a scale never before possible by the federal government. From 1934 until 1971 the US paper money supply doubled. From 1971 until 2005 it multiplied 13 times. This does not even take into consideration what has happened in the last 18 months. 

So now, some not so deep thinkers are suggesting that the U.S. sell off our remaining gold assets. See excerpt from Parade Magazine, Sunday Feb. 14, 2010:

Should the U.S. Sell Its Gold?  

The U.S. has the world’s largest gold reserve—more than 8000 metric tons. That’s far more than Germany’s, which comes in second with 3400. At current prices, our reserve is worth an estimated $288 billion. Since the U.S. government could certainly use the funds, why not sell this valuable commodity? Does our country need to keep all of that gold?

“The gold reserve is a remnant of the monetary system we abandoned in 1971,” says Jeremy Siegel, a finance professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. “We could have sold it then, and maybe we should have. Since 1971, the return on gold has been 8.86% a year, while the return on stocks has been 9.76%. Even with the disastrous year we just had, stocks have done better over the long run.”

But there are good reasons not to sell now. “Our gold holdings swamp annual demand,” says Andrew Williams of the U.S. Treasury. “Even talk by the government of perhaps selling gold might cause the price to drop,” adds James Barth of the Milken Institute, an economic think-tank. He says that selling gold “could be viewed as a sign of weakness” by other countries and send the undesirable message that the U.S. is desperate for revenue.

While the President can authorize the Treasury to sell gold, that hasn’t happened since 1979. But even if he were to authorize a sale, he couldn’t spend the funds on health care, defense, or any other programs—the law requires that “all proceeds from the sale of government gold be used to pay down the national debt,” according to Williams. Despite how large the reserve seems, liquidating it would barely make a dent in the $12.3 trillion debt. Still, economists like Siegel argue that the stored gold brings the federal government little benefit, and the U.S. also spends a significant amount to safeguard it.  

The first question is; do we still have it? There have been rumors circulating for years that the gold may have already been spent by the government. However according to an independent by KPMG, LLP, it is all there.

The next question is not as easily answered – is the gold encumbered? In other words, does it still belong to the United States government or has the Federal Reserve laid claim to it? The Treasury and the Federal Reserve Board have employed a range of strategies to try to minimize the role and importance of gold in the international monetary system. 

The U.S. Treasury has facilitated; selling, swapping, trading, and lending of gold by other countries, gold-holders, and mines in order to maintain an atmosphere of “oversupply” to bolster the dollar. All of this manipulation may have resulted in the encumbering the U.S. gold reserves which you would think would be the last thing they would want to do. Unfortunately, there is evidence that this may have happened so even though it is still there; the question remains –is it ours? This question needs to be answered. 

In the end if it is still property of the U.S. Treasury we should not sell it we should keep it! The way things are going it maybe the best collateral the country has left. It gives us a little security in case of a national emergency.

Spender-in-Chief Seeks Debt Counseling

On Thursday, President Obama used an executive order to create a debt commission. The commission will be charged with “taking on the impossible” and designing a plan to reduce the federal deficit.  To lead the commission Obama chose former Sen. Alan Simpson, R-WY., and Democrat Erskine Bowles, former chief of staff to President Clinton. 

“They’re going to try to restore reason to the fiscal debate and come up with answers,” said Obama. “The politics of dealing with chronic deficits is fraught with hard choices. And therefore it’s treacherous to officeholders here in Washington.”  

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Obama’s executive order sets up a debt commission to study options on spending and taxes because the U.S. Congress failed to create a congressional deficit panel of its own. The presidential commission will make recommendations but lacks the power to bind Congress to them.

Obama also signed the bill to raise government borrowing authority to $14.3 trillion and reinstall pay-as-you-go rules to require Congress to offset spending with cuts, Gibbs said. The White House is forecasting a record $1.56 trillion deficit in the fiscal year that ends on Sept. 30, 2010.

Vital creditors such as China and other investors question whether the White House is serious about fiscal responsibility. Failure to convince them will have a significant impact on the dollar and bond markets. They want to see a plan to control the deficit and spending. Obama’s current budget forecast show the debt level reaching 80% of GDP by 2020. The federal deficit reached an unprecedented $1.4 trillion in 2009 and most predict it will go even higher this year. 

The commission will consist of 18 members, six will be presidential appointees; there will be 12 sitting lawmakers, 6 appointed by Republican congressional leaders and 6 appointed by Democratic congressional leaders. A 14 vote majority would be required to implement any recommendation. The recommendations are due Dec. 1. 

The Republicans are wary but plan to participate. Their fear is that solutions may aim toward increasing taxes instead of cutting spending. 

“Americans know our problem is not that we tax too little but that Washington spends too much — that should be the focus of this commission,” McConnell said. 

House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, says the GOP has proposed immediate spending cuts through a rescissions package. If they aren’t considered a Boehner spokesman said “That doesn’t mean we won’t participate in this commission, but it does indicate that Washington Democrats aren’t serious yet about shutting down their spending binge.”  

Jerry Lewis, R-CA., is the most vocal critic of the panel. “Instead of acting appropriately to rein in spending and control skyrocketing deficits, the Democrat Congress and the President have outsourced their constitutional responsibilities to a powerless commission apparently created to provide political cover,” Lewis said. “The American people are demanding accountability from their elected officials,” he added. “This commission, which isn’t slated to produce anything until after the November elections, is essentially a way to avoid this accountability.” 

Lewis is dead on in his assessment. Fixing the deficit will be a complex task to be sure but it starts with common sense. The first way to reduce a spending deficit is to stop spending. The way to stimulate growth in the tax base is to help it grow. The proven way to do that is to cut taxes and stimulate investment. The math is simple – example: would you rather have 5% of $10,000,000 (500,000) or 7.5% of $5,000,000 (375,000). 

It is also difficult to take this idea seriously from an administration that does not mention that it has nearly quadrupled the deficit in a year. It is kind of like asking Tiger Woods for advice on marital fidelity. 

Americans need to watch this closely as it appears as Rep. Lewis has pointed out to be another distraction from the real job of reining in out of control government spending. This gives the President a new way to avoid accountability and set up scapegoats if his policy failures continue. 

Wake up, America! It is time to clean house in Washington and start over with common sense solutions that cut spending and promote fiscal responsibility. Keep speaking out and letting your representatives know we are not going to take it anymore.

Constitutional Conservatism: A Statement for the 21st Century

We recommit ourselves to the ideas of the American Founding.  Through the Constitution, the Founders created an enduring framework of limited government based on the rule of law. They sought to secure national independence, provide for economic opportunity, establish true religious liberty and maintain a flourishing society of republican self-government.

These principles define us as a country and inspire us as a people. They are responsible for a prosperous, just nation unlike any other in the world. They are our highest achievements, serving not only as powerful beacons to all who strive for freedom and seek self-government, but as warnings to tyrants and despots everywhere.

Each one of these founding ideas is presently under sustained attack. In recent decades, America’s principles have been undermined and redefined in our culture, our universities and our politics. The self evident truths of 1776 have been supplanted by the notion that no such truths exist. The federal government today ignores the limits of the Constitution, which is increasingly dismissed as obsolete and irrelevant.

Some insist that America must change, cast off the old and put on the new. But where would this lead — forward or backward, up or down? Isn’t this idea of change an empty promise or even a dangerous deception?

The change we urgently need, a change consistent with the American ideal, is not movement away from but toward our founding principles. At this important time, we need a restatement of Constitutional conservatism grounded in the priceless principle of ordered liberty articulated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

The conservatism of the Declaration asserts self-evident truths based on the laws of nature and nature’s God. It defends life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It traces authority to the consent of the governed. It recognizes man’s self-interest but also his capacity for virtue.

The conservatism of the Constitution limits government’s powers but ensures that government performs its proper job effectively. It refines popular will through the filter of representation. It provides checks and balances through the several branches of government and a federal republic.

A Constitutional conservatism unites all conservatives through the natural fusion provided by American principles. It reminds economic conservatives that morality is essential to limited government, social conservatives that unlimited government is a threat to moral self-government, and national security conservatives that energetic but responsible government is the key to America’s safety and leadership role in the world.

A Constitutional conservatism based on first principles provides the framework for a consistent and meaningful policy agenda.

• It applies the principle of limited government based on the
  rule of law to every proposal.
• It honors the central place of individual liberty in American
  politics and life.
• It encourages free enterprise, the individual entrepreneur, and
  economic reforms grounded in market solutions.
• It supports America’s national interest in advancing freedom
  and opposing tyranny in the world and prudently considers what we can and should do to that
  end.
• It informs conservatism’s firm defense of family, neighborhood,
  community, and faith.

The Economy – There is no magic wand!

Today’s labor department job report shows initial claims for unemployment benefits increased 31,000 to 473,000. There are now approximately 14,577,800 officially unemployed Americans. That is almost 9 million jobs lost since mid 2007.  

Further aggravating the situation, the Producer Price Index for Finished Goods rose 1.4% in January. This increase followed a 0.4% increase in December and a 1.5% increase in November. The index for finished goods excluding foods and energy rose 0.3 percent in January. This is a meaningless number as we all require both food and energy. The bad news is about 75% of the increase last month was due to a 5.1% jump on food and energy goods. Prices for finished goods moved up 4.6 percent for the 12 months ended January 2010, their third consecutive 12-month increase.

Here is your warning sign; the 1.4% increase in January could easily translate into a 10+% inflation rate if the trend continues. Unless this is an anomaly we could be on pace for a significant inflation ramp. All the rescue efforts by the Federal Reserve has set the stage for this inflation, so now the Fed is going to have some decisions to make at its next meeting to try to stop it. This is why Bernanke has been saying we’re probably going to have to raise rates soon.

We have dug ourselves a very deep hole. China is no longer buying our treasury bonds and they sold off many that they had. Japan is now the biggest foreign holder of U.S. debt. Now the Federal Reserve holds the biggest share of our total debt, over $5 trillion. With our AAA credit rating at risk, the next step will be to raise the interest paid on our treasury bonds to get new investors. Do you see where this is going? It is a vicious circle. So now the Fed will drive up interest rates to try to stop the inflation and reduce the money supply which will ultimately kill economic growth.

Remember both Bush and Obama administrations said, we must spend to fix the economy. We were told that printing money, borrowing money and spending money would stimulate the economy. We were told not to worry about inflation. Now all of a sudden inflation is barreling down the road at us. We’re repeating the mistakes of many European nations such as Greece, Italy, Spain, etc. all of whom are currently in deep shit! Keynesian Economics do not work!  

Wake up, America! It is time to face the truth. The only way out of the mess we are in is to cut – spending and taxes – a lot! We have built a model that is unsustainable. We have to come to grips with the idea that big government is not the answer – it is the problem. I am not just talking about the federal government either. The federal government will have to reduce its’ services to only those which are essential – national defense, infra structure and basic services. Social programs and luxury pork barrel spending must be eliminated. State governments must get smaller too. States need to narrow their focus to the basic services they should provide. We are going to have to rely on communities to pull together and help their own. People are going to have to learn to fend for themselves. Everyone is going to have to sacrifice to fix this problem. Each citizen must be allowed to keep as much as possible so they can reinvest in their savings, communities and build businesses that will restart the economy. This is the only sane road back to prosperity. The alternatives involve deals with the devil which will lead us to a loss of sovereignty, a world government or some form of socialistic government where we can all live together as peasants.

Restore the Republic, Reject the Agenda of the Progressive Left, Eliminate Big Government! This is the only answer.

Climate Change Unravels But Refuses to Die!

What in the world is happening? Could it be? Climate change is a scam?

So you are probably thinking… Climate Change, Cap & Trade and the like are dead… Why is he still writing about this? Wake up, people this is the administration that refuses to give up on healthcare reform and trying KSM in NYC!

News Flashes from the real world!

• For the first time in 14 years, Lake Erie is frozen. That’s right, the entire surface of the 241-mile-long lake is frozen over end to end. 
• Last week, the east coast was battered by record snowfalls with some areas receiving three feet of snow. This is not a singular event though.  So far this year, Baltimore (72.3 inches), Washington D.C. (54.9 inches) and Philadelphia (70.3 inches) have all beaten their previous records for snowiest winters.
• From The Register, a U.K. newspaper: “More trouble looms for the IPCC. The body may need to revise statements made in its Fourth Assessment Report on hurricanes and global warming. A statistical analysis of the raw data shows that the claims that global hurricane activity has increased cannot be supported.”  
• From Les Hatton, PhD Meteorologist and fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society: Analyzed hurricane activity from 1946 to 2009. He studied the number of storms and their strengths. He concluded the pattern averaged out. He went on to say that Al Gore made misleading statements in his prediction (more intense hurricanes) for the next 100 year pattern by choosing to use the 2005 (Katrina) data in a vacuum to support his assertion. Within the data set 2005 stands out as a complete anomaly.
• A growing number of “climate change” researchers are focused on the accuracy of thousands of weather stations around the world, which have been used to collect temperature data over the past 100 years. “The temperature records cannot be relied on as indicators of global change,” said John Christy, professor of atmospheric science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a former lead author on the IPCC. Many of these gathering stations have been compromised by everything from urbanization to relocation. There are well documented examples of weather stations in places such as: next to heat generating equipment, at the Rome airport near an area where jets are taxiing and on the grounds of an waste industrial incinerator.  Ross McKitrick, professor of economics at the University of Guelph, Canada, an invitee to a recent IPCC event said, “We concluded, with overwhelming statistical significance, that the IPCC’s climate data are contaminated with surface effects from industrialization and data quality problems. These add up to a large warming bias.”
• And last from Professor Phil Jones, former director of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit comes the following admissions: 

1. For the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.
2. Conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now.  (This would imply global warming is not a man-made phenomenon.)
3. Admitted he had “trouble” keeping track of the raw data that was critical to the theory of climate change. (What the hell does that mean – you’re a scientist?)

The proof against this scam is starting to pile up. The story is unraveling. So what’s next? Will it die?

Will the Obama administration call a time out and attempt to sort out the truth from the lies? After all, this is a huge piece of their political agenda. One would think they would want to be sure they are on the right track before pushing the country and our economy down a path from which there is no return.

To get the answer we turn to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) administrator Jane Lubchenco, who was asked this question on NPR, “Last week we saw some really unusual weather patterns not only through the mid-Atlantic but even today in the southern part of the US.  What do you think has made this year so different?” To which she replied, “It’s important that people recognize that weather is not the same as climate, and record-breaking storms neither negate nor approve climate change.  This year we have indeed seen a lot of seemingly strange things — record snowfalls in the mid-Atlantic region — even though the planet is warming.  And this isn’t a contradiction, and it’s not really unexpected.  The multiple snowstorms we’ve been seeing this winter with more on the way likely are a result of the confluence of El Nino and the Arctic Oscillation”.

Of course, this is true – El Nino and the Arctic Oscillation are cyclical parts of our weather pattern and occur regardless of man-made activity. The point being that weather is weather and climate change if it does exist would need other scientific data besides weather to support it. However, the environmental elite want to have it both ways. They want to point at weather when it suits their argument and discredit it when it doesn’t. That is why they renamed it “climate change” from “global warming”, after all.

As for Ms. Lubchenco, she just keeps pushing the administrations agenda. When asked, “What is your reaction to the growing sense around the country, perhaps even around the world, that global warming is a hoax?” She replied, “Climate change is underway.  It’s happening now.  It is resulting in many changes that will affect the way people live and do business.  And the fact that we are getting more and more requests for information about droughts, about future heat waves, about air quality, forest fires, sea level rise inundating coasts…” Really?

“It (Climate Change) has become completely political — it’s not about science at all,” said Fox affiliate WDAF  chief meteorologist, Mike Thompson “If science were the objective, then we would be seeing an entirely different debate. But there are agendas at play, and it has undermined the credibility of climate science.”

Remember this…

Quote from the Club of Rome: “In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill….All these dangers are caused by human intervention….and thus the “real enemy, then, is humanity itself….believe humanity requires a common motivation, namely a common adversary in order to realize world government. It does not matter if this common enemy is “a real one or….one invented for the purpose.” (The Club of Rome is an elitist think tank founded in 1968 and dedicated to limiting growth of the industrialized nations worldwide.)

…Or this?

UN Secretary Ban Ki-Moon: “ All agree that climate change is an existential threat to humankind. … The issues are complex, affecting everything from national economies to individual lifestyles. They involve political trade-offs and commitments of resources no leader can undertake lightly. … Yet the elements of a deal are on the table. All we require to put them in place is political will. We need to step back from narrow national interest and engage in frank and constructive discussion in a spirit of global common cause”.

First, all do not agree that its’ real, much less an eminent threat to the world. Also read what is said closely and it is easy to see the real picture. The goal is a “global common cause”. So what does that mean? Again read carefully. It involves “political trade-offs”, “commitments of resources”, and “the need to step back from narrow national interests”. If you pay attention it is pretty easy to decipher, the plan calls for a worldwide social re-engineering that will lead to world government.

There’s your answer! IT IS NOT going away, the climate change scam and the “green agenda” will just keep reinventing itself looking for a way to invade your psyche. The “Progressive Left” will keep trying to find a scare tactic to get us on board because “It does not matter if this common enemy is “a real one or….one invented for the purpose.”

Plain and simple this is a power grab designed to redistribute wealth and reengineer society. In the absence of legislation the Obama administration has used the EPA to continue pushing their agenda declaring carbon dioxide “a harmful greenhouse gas”. They also established a Climate Program inside the NOAA to provide the public with “information on the climate and how it impacts their lives”. Can you say propoganda?

The Next 5 Things: #4 Regulations vs. Legislation

The Obama administration is a poor loser so as the losses begin to pile up watch for the administration to start to change strategy on how to achieve their goals. They are going to the bend rules in Congress, make back room deals and threaten those who don’t fall in line. When that doesn’t work they will use regulatory agencies, parliamentary tricks and executive orders to jam things through. They are running out of time and remember the Progressive motto: “The end justify the means.”

From the Saul Alinsky playbook: Rules for Radicals – In one chapter of his book, Alinsky discusses the question, “Does the end justify the means?” He suggests: the only question regarding the ethics of means and ends is, “Does this particular end justify this particular means?”

Alinsky’s rules of the ethics of means and ends:

• The judgment of the ethics of means is dependent upon the political position of those sitting in judgment.
• In war the end justifies almost any means.
• Judgment must be made in the context of the times in which the action occurred and not from any other chronological vantage point.
• Concern with ethics increases with the number of means available and vice versa.
• The less important the end to be desired, the more one can afford to engage in ethical evaluations of means.
• Generally, success or failure is a mighty determinant of ethics.
• The morality of a means depends upon whether the means is being employed at a time of imminent defeat or imminent victory.
• Any effective means is automatically judged by the opposition as being unethical.
• You do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral garments.
• Goals must be phrased in general terms like “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity,” “Of the Common Welfare,” “Pursuit of Happiness,” or “Bread and Peace.”

With this as a back drop for their thinking, what can we expect as the clock winds down? Here are two examples: 

• Cap & Trade has virtually no chance of passing the legislative hurdles to get it through Congress so:
  1. 04-17-09 RODALE NEWS, EMMAUS, PA—“The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency today announced that greenhouse gases contribute to air pollution that could endanger public health and welfare, a move that will likely set the stage to regulate harmful emissions, mainly carbon dioxide”.  These regulations will require better fuel efficiency in vehicles as well as regulating large emitters, such as coal-fired power plants. On this one move the agenda will be built and executed – less cars, more mass transit, smart grids, compact fluorescent light bulbs, monitoring your home’s temperature and smart appliances. But wait there will be more – no more disposable coffee cups or bottled water, changing your diet to include less red meat or including more organic food because of their respective “carbon footprints”. The “Green Police” are coming!
  2. On Monday, Feb. 3^rd, the administration signed off on final EPA rules to implement a huge expansion of the national bio-fuels mandate. An EPA announcement of the new rules is expected soon. The EPA is considering implementing “international indirect land use changes” when measuring ethanol’s carbon footprint. The phrase refers to the emissions from forest clearing to create cropland in other countries to compensate for increasing use of U.S. corn and soybeans for making fuels. This is important because current law demands that ethanol and other bio-fuels have lower “lifecycle” emissions than gasoline and diesel. The ethanol industry has fought the calculation based on the idea that there is no meaningful way to connect U.S. industry/agriculture to deforestation in places like Brazil or Indonesia. Even if you could, how do you hold either party accountable for the environmental impact of the other? This is also an attempt to tie us to international/U.N. laws which weakens our sovereignty.  
• Gun Control:
  1. If you can’t legislate something you can always find another path, even for gun control. Remember how Obama put the financial institutions in a stranglehold after giving them bailout cash? Now they are controlling pay and bonuses of executives. So think guns – then think Cass Sunstein and his “Nudge Theory”. Who is the largest purchaser of guns? Federal, state and local governments! So what happens when the government decides to leverage this position with the gun manufacturers? This is already being discussed… more to come.

Don’t forget health care reform is not dead yet either. The President refuses to give up or start over so eventually we may see the Progressives invoke the “nuclear option” of reconciliation to shove it through. There are plenty of other examples but I think you get the point.

So here is what we are faced with – a desperate President whose agenda is being rejected at every turn, a Congress with no backbone and an administration that arrogantly believes it knows what is best for the country regardless of what its’ citizens want. This is a recipe for disaster. We must push back hard – there is no longer time for a “nudge”. Our liberty, freedom, economy and sovereignty hang in the balance. The Constitution is no longer the conscience of the government; it will not stop them because they do not respect it. Desperate politicians will do desperate things.

Make your voice heard. Pay attention to the little things. It is no longer just about the bills being voted on in Congress. It is also about the executive orders, the agency regulations and parliamentary tactics. Take nothing for granted. This is a game that requires our focus and our attention. Remember what the Progressives believe:

Defeat for many of the administrations agenda items is becoming more and more imminent so they will use what ever means necessary to win. No tactic is off limits.

These people are radicals who want to reengineer our society and our nation. Open your eyes America, the Constitution and the American way of life are under attack! You must fight back, the threat is real. The “Progressives” in our government want to “fundamentally transform America”. This transformation is underway. This not only can but is happening in America. Will you help stop it?

UPDATE: Next 5 Things- #2 Employees Free Choice Act

Recently there was a report in the Las Vegas Sun called, Prospects For Organized Labor’s Legislative Agenda Rapidly Fading. According to the report organized labor is disappointed the Obama administration and the Democrats for a lack of progress on their “agenda items”, after their significant investment in the 2008 elections. Their agenda centerpiece was the Employees Free Choice Act or “Card Check” which would effectively end secret ballots in union elections. This legislation would give the unions a significant tool in driving up their membership because it exposes employees against a union to harassment tactics because their opposition is no longer protected by a secret ballot. Most experts now say that the bill can not pass as stand alone legislation.

However, the unions won’t give up that easily. Now there are rumors that the unions will attempt to leverage “moderate Republicans” to help pass the legislation by using “other tactics” such as embedding it in one of the proposed new jobs bills currently being discussed.

We with the recent defeat of Obama nominee, radical labor lawyer Craig Becker for a position with the NLRB, the unions are scrambling to salvage a win. We must watch closely and hold our representatives accountable for stopping it. This can not pass – if it does it will be a death blow to many small businesses and a job killer on all levels. The American public is clearly against this legislation and support the privacy a secret ballot ensures.

One additional note: Obama is now considering a recess appointment for Becker. These type of appointsment are not uncommon except that usually the candidate was not just voted down. Since Becker was rejected by our elected representatives, if Obama slams him through anyway – it is another clear example of how well he listens.

As I’ve been writing for several months, our way of life, our freedom, our liberty and the America that we all love is under attack from the Socialist Left. They are led by President Obama, a Harvard educated community organizer who grew up in the rough and tumble world of Chicago politics. As we have discussed previously, he has a plan and he built a team around him to execute it. He is counting on your passive – “that can’t happen in America attitude” to provide a window of opportunity for him to “Fundamentally transform America!”

Remember – his team is mostly the Czars who work inside the Executive Branch of the Government and are only accountable to the President – no congressional/judicial oversight or approval- and sure as hell – no transparency!

The President likes to discuss policies in general terms describing how the administration might interpret and administer proposed programs. All the while deftly avoiding discussion of the contents of the bills which might become law. Think back – tax cuts for 95% of Americans, transparency and the veto pen to stop pork barrel spending policies, all of which have or are changing because “the situation changed”. As a result we must be vigilant because healthcare reform is not the only game changing bill on the table. Keeping up with these guys is like playing 3 card monte with a street hustler. Don’t be distracted by one hand because the other is up to something too.

Remember the administration is following the community organizer’s handbook. The plan is to overwhelm the system. This is why there is such a rush to pass all this legislation. The plan – overwhelm the system because they are betting we can’t organize fast enough to stop everything.

So here is part 2 of a 5 part series on the Socialist Left’s agenda to “transform” the American Way of Life. These items are the building blocks for a national shift to socialism. This agenda must be stopped – our freedom and liberty depend on it.

The Employee Free Choice Act, or “card check,” has been introduced in the past three Congresses, but it always failed to win the 60 votes needed to pass the controversial legislation in the Senate.

The proposed law gives workers a choice of forming a union through majority sign-up (“card check”) or an election by secret ballot. Critics warn that this will lead to employee intimidation to sign cards and will deny individuals the right to a secret ballot. The secret ballot has been the safety valve in the organizing process. Employees could go along with process to allow a vote by signing the organizing petition but had they always had the safety of the secret ballot to protect their individual vote. As a manufacturing manager for 30 years I have had a front row seat to union organizing efforts twice. In both cases, employees were under tremendous peer pressure to sign the petition. However, both times the union was defeated by the secret ballot. It seems like the process worked as it was supposed to each time.

Supporters say the legislation will improve wages, benefits, and working conditions by helping workers form unions. However, employers say that “card check” will kill jobs because small to medium size companies will not be able to afford unionized shops and in many cases the incremental costs will drive them out of business.

“Voting is the most precious right of every citizen, and we have a moral obligation to ensure the integrity of our voting process.” – Hillary Clinton

Shouldn’t this apply towards something as important as a union election too? After all the signing the card means that you want to hear more. After both sides present their case you go cast your vote in private.

So why do we need this law? First, it will help the unions get easier victories and build their dwindling membership. Oh, yeah and the labor unions strongly support the democrats. Can you say UAW and SEIU? This is as much about politics as it is about employee’s rights.

There is one more aspect to the bill that is equally as troubling as the secret ballot issue. That is the method by which negotiations would be handled under the bill. If the employer and the union did not reach a deal in 120 days, a government arbitration panel could intervene and take over the negotiations.

For many, the government arbitration clause looks to be a deal breaker. As long as that provision is in the bill Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah says, “I don’t know how anybody can talk compromise.” He added, “If it wasn’t for the political power of the national unions, this wouldn’t have a chance. But they are powerful.”

A new development that makes this bill even more dangerous is the recently negotiated exemption from the proposed 5.25% luxury tax that will apply to “Cadillac health plans”. Under the terms of the agreement, “Cadillac health plans” that are negotiated through a collective bargaining agreement are exempt. This could turn into another tool for union organizers to use to entice new members.

Ironically, during the 2008 elections anti card check ads featured the leading liberal of his time – former S.D. Sen. George McGovern as their spokesman.

Even George could not get behind elimination of the secret ballot to protect the privacy of each employee. We must fight this legislation. With unemployment already tracking at over 10% nationally, we can not afford to lose more jobs. This legislation is bad for business, it is un-American and since when are we against a secret ballot? Write your Senator and tell them –just say no!

Unfortunately, Congress is currently littered with a variety of proposed legislation that supports the administration’s social reengineering agenda. Write your representatives and tell them we are not interested in an American makeover or living in a socialist nanny state. We must send them a clear message that these bills must not pass. We must be vigilant in identifying these bills and fighting them. After all, the only thing at stake is the American Dream!

The Green Police: A Joke or A Prediction

So we all laughed when we saw the Audi ad during the Super Bowl featuring Cheap Trick’s Dream Police remade as The Green Police. The ad was clever probably appealing to both sides of the Environmental/Climate Change argument as either humorous or serious depending on your point of view. However, upon further review this is a clever  multi-layered propaganda campaign that clearly supports the progressive/green agenda.

“Every day consumers around the globe are faced with a myriad of decisions in their quest to become more environmentally responsible citizens. Paper or plastic? Bottled water or tap water? Gas or electric? Compost bucket or recycling bin? So many questions; yet so many conflicting answers. It can be overwhelming.

Now consumers have help, from the Green Police.

As part of the lead up to their third consecutive Super Bowl ad, Audi has created a fictional Green Police unit that are caricatures of today’s green movement. The Green Police are a humorous group of individuals that have joined forces in an effort to collectively help guide consumers to make the right decision when it comes to the environment. They’re not here to judge, merely to guide these decisions.

Coincidentally, there are numerous real Green Police units globally that are furthering green practices and environmental issues. For example, Israel’s main arm of the Ministry of Environmental Protection. Audi strives to help protect the environment in all aspects of our vehicle manufacturing. Environmental Protection in the area of enforcement and deterrence is called; you guessed it, the Green Police. New York has officers within the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation that are fondly called the Green Police. The Green Police is also the popular name for Vietnam’s Environmental Police Department and the UK has a group who dresses in green as part of the Environment Agency’s squad to monitor excessive CO2 emissions”.

Now watch the ad again and the companion collateral available on the web site and see how funny you really think it is.

Today the Green Movement is the new religion that the world’s elite have created to move their agenda forward. This is being done under the banner of saving the planet, social justice and redistribution of wealth while retaining the power for themselves.

The threat to the world is not man-made global warming or climate change. The threat to the world, is the groups of fanatics who want to impose their values and desires on others.

The government is promising to create more jobs. We know the IRS is hiring agents. What’s next – the EPA and Green Police? It is not really that far fetched. Apparently the Green Police already exist in places around the world including the U.S. If the government has its’ way – will their numbers will continue to grow?

Congress’ inability to pass Cap & Trade resulted in the EPA declaring CO2 a harmful pollutant. With that as its’ launching pad the EPA is promising new regulations next month. There are a host of new federal mandates on everything from outdoor light bulbs and table lamps to water dispensers, commercial hot food cabinets, and Jacuzzis. (Remember the commercial!) Expecting people to be good stewards of the planet is one thing – but to create an environmental Gestapo would be another.

The real objective is social reengineering not saving the planet. It is time to see the green agenda, for what it is. Climate change and the green movement are mostly a giant money making, power grabbing scam for the elite – and YOU are the victim. Wake Up! Do your own research, the truth is out there – this is a scam.
