Sure this is humorous and yet…………

Wake Up America, do not let this happen to us! Fight big government control of your life!

Restore the Republic, Reject Socialism!

Mark Lloyd, FCC Diversity Officer – Fan of State Run Radio & Hugo Chavez

Now more of Mr. Lloyd’s comments are trickling out. At the 2008 National Conference for Media Reform he led a session called “Media Reform and Social Change”. During this session he made analogies about genocide in Rwanda and Hugo Chavez’s incredible revolution. Watch the video below and commentary by Glenn Beck….

In his 2006 book, Prologue to a Farce: Communications and Democracy in America,Lloyd called for making private broadcasting companies pay licensing fees equal to their total operating costs. These funds would be given to public broadcasting outlets to allow them the same funding to support their operations as a private company would have. In other words, corporate redistribution of wealth.

Money is not the only thing that Lloyd wants redistributed, he wants to “regulate much of the programming on these stations to make sure they focused on ‘diverse views’ and government activities.”

In addition to his work at the Center for American Progress as a Senior Fellow, Mr. Lloyd has been a journalist, as a communications attorney at Dow, Lohnes & Albertson in Washington, D.C. and general counsel to the Benton Foundation.

What is the Benton Foundation? “The mission of the Benton Foundation is to articulate a public interest vision for the digital age and to demonstrate the value of communications for solving social problems. Current priorities include: promoting a vision and policy alternatives for the digital age in which the benefit to the public is paramount; raising awareness among funders and nonprofits on their stake in critical policy issues; enabling communities and nonprofits to produce diverse and locally responsive media content.”

Are you sensing a theme? How about social reengineering through media control? I say it every post and I’ll say it again now, this is another threat to YOUR American way of life!

This is government moving toward policies that control the media, the internet and free speech. These policies will redistribute wealth and control all the messaging.

Radio and the internet are the primary tools for exchange of conservative ideas and conversation. We can not let them take our voices away. We must fight back and stand up for our rights. Liberty and freedom are ours to lose if we don’t get involved; in the end we will only have ourselves to blame if we do nothing.

Restore the Republic, Reject Socialism!

Health Care Industry under attack by Henry Waxman

The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government — lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.”– Patrick Henry

In a move some fear is a reprisal for opposing President Obama’s health care plan, Democrats sent 52 letters to health insurers requesting financial records for a House committee’s investigation.

Reps. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and Bart Stupak, D-Mich., sent a letter warning health insurers that the House Energy and Commerce Committee is “examining executive compensation and other business practices of the health industry.”

Waxman, chairman of the committee, and Stupak, chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee did not inform their Republican counterparts of their plans.

Health insurers have until Sept. 4 to provide Congress a detailed list of every employee who made over a $1 million dollars a year between 2003 and 2008. Democrats also want documents about conferences and any events held off company property as well as the types of transportation, lodging, food, entertainment and even gifts exchanged.

Raising the intimidation stakes: the Waxman letter offers insurers no explanation of what is being investigated or why.

Industry insiders fear the beginning of reprisals for anyone daring to dissent from the Obama agenda. One said it feels like a reprisal audit by the IRS.

With raucous health care town halls unfolding nationwide during the August congressional recess and polls showing increased opposition to a government-run insurance program or “public option,” neither Waxman nor Stupak nor their staffs would comment on this story. But it’s no secret that Democrats blame anti-reform ads on the private health insurance industry and its supporters.

Private health insurers warn that a public option could put them at a competitive disadvantage and even out of business, but they insist they support health care reform in general.

A spokesman for Stupak told The Associated Press Tuesday night that 52 letters had been sent to health insurers with $2 billion or more in annual premiums. He said letters were not dispatched to other industry groups, some of which have been airing television advertising in support of Obama’s call for legislation.

But Robert Zirkelbach, spokesman for the American Health Insurance Plans, said Democrats on the panel hoped to “silence the health insurance industry and distract attention away from the fact that the American people are rejecting a government-run plan” as part of Obama’s planned overhaul.

Zirkelbach said it would be up to individual companies to decide whether to turn the records over.

Spokesmen for three large insurance companies, Aetna, UnitedHealth Group Inc. and WellPoint Inc., confirmed the firms had received the letters but declined comment.

This another GIANT RED FLAG. Another industry under government attack and afraid of government intervention. Where will this end? Do you remember the “mis-steps” of the automotive executives right before the government intervened and nationalized the industry? Do you remember retro active tax legislation to punish AIG executives for bonuses paid – whether we like it or not under the terms of the compensation plans that they were hired under?

If you do not believe that the current “thugocracy” in Washington is capable of punitive actions you are severely mistaken! Watch carefully America – your liberty and freedom is under attack! Stand up and be counted! Make your voice heard – this is just the beginning of an eighteen month battle to hold the socialist left in check until we can sweep them out of office in 2010. Be vigilant and fight the good fight. Reject Socialism and Restore our Republic!

“With respect to the two words ‘general welfare,’ I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs was not contemplated by its creators.” — James Madison

Rep. Diane Watson – Sings Praises of Castro

Who are these people? The more they defend what they are doing the scarier it gets!

House member Rep. Diane Watson (D-CA), a far left liberal which is a polite way to say she is a socialist made some unbelievable statements at her recent health care town hall.

Watson is known for several notable race baiting remarks in recent years including criticizing another black leader, Ward Connerly, chairman of the American Civil Rights Institute, for marrying a white woman and saying that the US will never give Washington, D.C. statehood because it is a “chocolate city” which might mean two more black senators.

In this audio clip (from KABC), she praises the Cuban health care system and plays the race card as the reason for opposition to health care reform. She goes on to credit Fidel Castro and Che Guevara for “kick(ing) out the wealthy”.

Here is the transcript of the audio clip of above. It is worth reading again just to get the full effect.

WATSON: You might have heard their philosophical leader. I think his name is Rush Limbaugh. And he said early on, “I hope that he fails.”

Do you know what that means? If the president, your commander-in-chief, fails, America fails.

Now, when a senator says that this will be his Waterloo, and we all know what happened at Waterloo, then we have him and he fails. Do we want a failed state called the United States?

And remember: They are spreading fear and they are trying to see that the first president that looks likes me fails.

Now just understand what’s at the bottom line.

And you know we just got, 48 hours ago, we just go back, we were in Beijing, China, Hong Kong, China, we were in Taiwan, we were in Guam, we were all over the Far East.

I just want you to know: People look at the United States as a country that has changed its way and has elected someone from Kenya and Kansas, I’ll put it like that.

And they’re saying, “We thought you would never do that.”

So we don’t want to have this young man, and he just turned 48 — we want him to succeed, because when he succeeds, we regain our status. We regain our status.

It was just mentioned to me by our esteemed speaker, “Did anyone say anything about the Cuban health system?”

And lemme tell ya, before you say “Oh, it’s a commu–”, you need to go down there and see what Fidel Castro put in place. And I want you to know, now, you can think whatever you want to about Fidel Castro, but he was one of the brightest leaders I have ever met. [APPLAUSE]

And you know, the Cuban revolution that kicked out the wealthy, Che Guevara did that, and then, after they took over, they went out among the population to find someone who could lead this new nation, and they found…well, just leave it there (laughs), an attorney by the name of Fidel Castro…

Seriously, she is another example of the left wing moon bats taking over Washington. When you take stock of the vocal California contingent (Waxman, Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Waters & Watson) in Congress representing California; is it any wonder their state is bankrupt?

We should go see what Castro put in place? Last time I check Castro was a communist dictator who came to power by way of a military coup. Then he stole everything from his “citizens” and impoverished his people. Rep. Watson – if this is what you are selling, we ain’t buying!

Is it clear yet? Can you see who these people are? They are socialists or even communists. Their plan is one of redistribution of wealth and equality at the lowest common denominator. This is unconstitutional and flies in the face of the American dream. They are going to destroy our country and take away our liberty. We Must Fight Back!

This is not about Health Care Reform, Tax and Cap, Card Check, or any other single bill! It is about all their bills. Wake up, America! We are under attack by a wave of socialists, their czars, their bills and their plans for social re-engineering. Make your voice heard! Get involved before it is too late. Become part of the growing wave of patriots fighting to return to the constitutional government that made our country free, strong and great.

Restore the Republic – Reject Socialism!

“A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government” – Edward Abbey

“Be not intimidated… nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice” – John Adams

Breaking News: Proposed New Bill to Give Obama “Cybersecurity Emergency” Powers

Warning: The New Bill is S 773 from the Senate Commerce Science and Transportation Committee. It was introduced April 1,2009 and is called the Cyber Security Act of of 2009.

From : Competitive Enterprise Institute, Washington, D.C., August 28, 2009

Experts Warned Against Dangers of Gov’t Control of Private Networks

—According to a breaking news report by CNET’s Declan McCullagh, a draft bill in the U.S. Senate would grant President Obama “cybersecurity emergency powers” to disconnect and even seize control of private sector computers on the Internet.  Back in May, when Obama proposed a “cybersecurity czar with a broad mandate” and the administration issued a report outlining potential vulnerabilities in the government’s information security policies, CEI Director of Technology Studies Wayne Crews cautioned about “the constant temptation by politicians in both parties to expand government authority over ‘critical’ private networks.”

“From American telecommunications to the power grid, virtually anything networked to some other computer is potentially fair game to Obama to exercise ‘emergency powers,’” Crews said today.  “Policy makers should be suspicious of proposals to collectivize and centralize cybersecurity risk management, especially in frontier industries like information technology.  When government asserts authority over security technologies, it hinders the evolution of more robust information security practices and creates barriers to non-political solutions—both mundane and catastrophic.  The result is that we become less secure, not more secure.”

Instead, Crews had urged the Obama Administration to focus on “securing government networks and keeping government agencies on the cutting edge of communications technology.”  As today’s news illustrates, the dangers created by such a “broad mandate” may come to pass.

This should be a GIANT RED FLAG! Free speech is in danger. When you add this to the potential intrusion of government into radio via the FCC and some of the statements of new FCC Diversity Director, Mark Lloyd – it may be time to panic. The last two tools for conservative news, information sharing and networking that aren’t currently under direct government control are now under attack. If you love Twitter, Facebook, your access to the internet as well as listening to your favorite conservative talk show this should concern you. Contact your elected representatives and tell them that you do not support the government invading your life… It is Unconstitutional! Tell them – Just Say NO!

“Your Life, Your Choices”, VA Administration bullying vets?

A recent article in the Wall Street Journal  the  reports that last year the VA’s National Center for Ethics in Health Care advocated a 52-page end-of-life planning document, “Your Life, Your Choices” calling it a “living will” planning tool.

It was written by Dr. Robert Pearlman, the chief of ethics evaluation for the VA. Dr. Pearlman is known for favoring physician-assisted suicide and for his support of health-care rationing.

Quoting the Journal article:

“Your Life, Your Choices” presents end-of-life choices in a way aimed at steering users toward predetermined conclusions, much like a political “push poll.” For example, a worksheet on page 21 lists various scenarios and asks users to then decide whether their own life would be “not worth living.”

The circumstances listed include ones common among the elderly and disabled: living in a nursing home, being in a wheelchair and not being able to “shake the blues.” There is a section which provocatively asks, “Have you ever heard anyone say, ‘If I’m a vegetable, pull the plug’?” There also are guilt-inducing scenarios such as “I can no longer contribute to my family’s well being,” “I am a severe financial burden on my family” and that the vet’s situation “causes severe emotional burden for my family.”

This is the second go round for this booklet. The booklet was first introduced at the VA in 1997. Later the Bush White House pulled it because of the way it looked at complex health and moral issues. The Obama Administration however, has reinstituted its’ use.

This has become another example of how the approach to government run health care might look. This is an unfeeling and callous approach to health care. If this is the approach we are already willing to consider with our veterans can you imagine that this wouldn’t become part of the policy for the general public.

Here are a couple of video news segments on this specific issue and healthcare in general.

The bottom line as Judge Napolitano says the government consumes resources rather than creates them. Cash for Clunkers, Medicare, Medicaid are all poster children for how poorly government run programs perform. While there are parts of the healthcare system that need improvement an overhaul is not required. If the government wants to help then they could start by reforming laws around frivolous malpractice lawsuits and getting out of bed with the drug companies.

Healthcare Reform is one of the most dangerous pieces of legislation to come to the floor of Congress in 50 years. This is an essential building block for the Democrat’s socialist agenda. It also has the potential to bankrupt our country and change the American way of life forever. This legislation does not FIX a single problem but it creates a potential litany of new ones. This entire piece of legislation is unnecessary. If we are really trying to solve health care coverage for poor Americans then let’s do that and leave the system that takes care of the other 90+% of us alone.

This debate will continue and we must continue to fight the attempts of Congress to hijack our healthcare, our liberty, our freedom, and our way of life.

“The art of government is to make two-thirds of a nation pay all it possibly can pay for the benefit of the other third”. –Voltaire
