Jimmy Carter is a disgrace

Jimmy Carter  says Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst was “based in racism”

From the Associated Press:

Former President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday that U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst to President Barack Obama during a speech to Congress last week was an act “based on racism” and rooted in fears of a black president.

“I think it’s based on racism,” Carter said at a town hall held at his presidential center in Atlanta. “There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president.”

The Georgia Democrat said the outburst was a part of a disturbing trend directed at the president that has included demonstrators equating Obama to Nazi leaders.

“Those kind of things are not just casual outcomes of a sincere debate on whether we should have a national program on health care,” he said. “It’s deeper than that.”

In remarks decried by Republicans, former president Jimmy Carter told NBC’s Brian Williams in an interview Tuesday that he believes race is at the core of much of the opposition to President Obama.

“I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he’s African American,” Carter said. “I live in the South, and I’ve seen the South come a long way, and I’ve seen the rest of the country that shared the South’s attitude toward minority groups at that time, particularly African Americans”

Jimmy Carter is a sanctimonious jackass! His comments are unbecoming of a former president. We are trying to have debate about the president’s policies. We are not calling him racist names. He has been compared to famous socialists and communists. These are fair comparisons at a policy level. Jimmy Carter’s remarks are both irresponsible and appear to be intentionally inflammatory. What does he hope to accomplish with this rhetoric? You would think that he would want to add value to the discussion but instead he has chosen to add fuel to the fire! He is a disgrace!

It is true that there have been some unflattering and uncalled for signs. In every large movement there are always some in the group that are on the fringe. However 98% of these protesters are protesting the right thing – the POLICIES! This is America and this is our right.

There is also a level of hypocrisy that is numbing. When the Progressive Left, the liberal media and anyone else that wanted to take a shot at President Bush the last eight years where was the outcry? They spoke in both unflattering and derogatory terms about him. When Harry Reid called him a liar and a loser, where was the outcry? Like him or not he was the President, so where was the respect for the office then?

Frankly, Carter should shut up if he is not going to add a voice of leadership. I guess Ms. Lillian never taught him if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all. Watch Carter’s interview below:

I agree with Carter about the signs he referred to, they are disgraceful and no presidentshould be referred to in such a manner. So why wasn’t he out there defending Bush with the same vigor, even if he didn’l agree with Bush’s policies?

I reject Carter’s assertions and his devisive comments. I agree some people go too far when they let their emotions take over – but this issue has roots on both sides of the aisle. It is time to put away the race card and focus on the issues.

  1. Jimmy, that is about the DUMBEST THING THAT HAS EVER COME OUT OF YOUR RACIST PIE-HOLE, YOU JACKASS. Go sit in the truck and just please be quiet, AMERICANS are tired of what you have to say because it doesn’t have any relevancy regarding the debate over the Health Care Legislation.
P.S. I don’t believe Rep. Joe Wilson has EVER HAD A RACIST THOUGHT IN HIS LIFE…

  2. I wish most of these people who are opening their mouths without thinking would just realize that their stupid remarks only make matters worse and are an illustration of their own words and actions. At this time in our USA we must realize that there are people who feed on the remarks of our government officials (past/present) and it can change a person’s attitude and thinking. Believe me, look what happened when President Obama made the remark about the police involved with the Gates situation. We have to be responsible in our thoughts and words because of the consequences.

  3. Jimmy Carter i did not think it was possible but you are dumber then you look just keep eating your peanuts and shut up you fool

  4. What do you expect from a coward. He wouldn’t lift a hand for the Iranian captives. He was the worst president since Harding.

  5. I think the old man has finally become senile.
